The only thing I find and I can’t understand why Toyota did it is the position they chose to put the air filter box. So low down at the front and easily damaged and once cracked will start taking in water if you hit a puddle or even driving around in heavy rain.

@@situationing i haven't done much yet, only had it a couple months... its very much a 'softroader' though, bit like a Subaru forester, vs a hilux or Landcruiser. From what Ive heard they're surprisingly capable, bit like this vid shows, but with crap clearance. big front overhang too... so approach angle sucks. Lift kits help though.

Hi Cian. No issues so far. The diesels are the same 1KD on the aus delivered so spares/service are no issue. The model is KDH206R. If you google you’ll find all the information you need on drive train specs/services intervals. Got mine through Edward Lees, can’t recommend enough. The seem to only get premium stock, wouldn’t be worthwhile bringing crap all the way to Aus I guess. It’s no landcruiser but I’ve taken mine further than I expected it to go. Is this Hiace a Japanese import? I am looking at buying one to do this very thing, off road not extreme but more than the average gravel path. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
L400 delica is 1000 times better van, this is awd like an xtrail, a delica is an actual 4x4 with high and low range and factory centre diff lock. Plus a delica is probably cheaper too
Yeah it’s no landcruiser but does surprising well off-road. Just lacks the ground clearance for anything too gnarly. Compromise for having a full size van. Recommend the diesel/manual combo 🤙🏼
