One, never ever use 2×4's for anything that doesn't support a verticle load, and put down some gravel for drainage. Jees, do some painting & repairs, your online dude. Doesn't it depress you to look at that back yard!
You need to have a safety rope up there so you don't fall and hurt yourself you must not value your life with all the safety mistakes that you're making
I have a new lease on life for sure after I watch your videos… I’m trying to catch you every time you get in your ladder!!!! My anxiety goes up the roof!!! Please please please…. Move the ladder closer!! 😊😊😊😊😊
at 15:40, was that a rat on the left side of the picture? If she won't help you with projects, this SHOULD tell you something about your future! Music is very appropriate. Looks like a pretty good job and will be very useful for you.
I've used the inflatable wedges to pop out body panels. They're like ten bucks on Amazon. Others use footballs and such with a hand pump, so youve got options. I'm very familiar with that oil filter housing, you can buy an upgraded aluminum one for now and when the housing starts leaking in a few years replace it with the upgraded one as well. I would only replace the plastic cap now unless its leaking from the housing. Good purchase 🥂 Enjoy the massage
What was that I saw run under the shed? It would have work better if you had rope and pulleys and it would have worked better if you put it the plywood on top of the scaffold that way you wouldn't have to carry the plywood up the ladder. You did a good job though but I would have been right along there with my man.
are the studs for the platform @30:40 structural to the shed? I'm asking because I would like to remove this additional storage from mine but don't want the shed to fall apart. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
How did you calculate the rafter size to fit that loft? Safety isn’t your thing, I get that, not a knock but come on there were a few moments. Overall amazing, though I don’t know how you landed on that pitch to jig on the deck. Jig makes sense. Unsure on process.
I calculated rafter length by marking middle of floor and placing 8ft lengths of 2x4 together at that point and then to the edges of the floor… so that way I could get the tallest roof possible with 8 foot rafters… I did not account for an overhang which I should have… this method is probably incorrect, but it made sense to me.
Perfect! Mine is lifted 2.5 inches and I was wondering if the under carriage cleaner would do a good job on a lifted Jeep. Will try it out in a couple of weeks when we come back from an off- road trip in Tennessee. Thanks!!
One stain! I bet that's annoying after cleaning all of that! There's a lot of stuff that will pull that out. Dawn will work, as you mentioned, and so will other common household cleaners like laundry detergent, pinesol, vinegar, baking soda, and then some bleach when you're done. If it's old it's likely soaked all the way through, but if you can get the top layer clean no one will ever know. Those cleaners sure work great, I just use the regular pressure washer wand but I'll have to look into getting one. Turned out great! Shed door might need that 15° nozzle on the wand up close. Or you can use a rag soaked in brake fluid. The paint removers on the public market nowadays don't really do much like they used to. Have a great day 🥂
Next time, watch a couple RU-vidS first. I'm old and alone, always doing Diy stuff. Those who know what they're doing provide excellent tips and help you to avoid costly redoes and more $$.
The reason those Tuff Sheds are that short is a lot of cities have ordinances limiting shed height without a permit. Mine is 10’ from ground to roof peak. If you put a Tuff Sheds on cinder blocks, those short sheds end up right at 9’.
At 22:43 I had to turn the video off. Honestly, all those photos of hurricane aftermaths in Texas with all the neighbors sheds down the street, I think were built in this manner. Sorry. I'm glad you didn't break a bone, or break the floor, or lose your head from your shoulders...
Gotta give you an "A" for effort, and an "A" for not slappin' sideways your girlfriend for not at least standing a few yards down so the wall didn't collapse on her. It was painful to watch you struggling with a 16' length of wall when knowing you're doing it yourself, an 8' span would have been just fine, and Ms "Clogs" could go back to watching TV
Haha like me I do not know building stuff but I did it. Unfortunately it's not done yet haha. I am doing it slowly safely, and never worry. It will get done.
I'm wore out just watching you! I wouldn't try it now since I'm old, but when I was your age, I did all kinds of crazy stuff like you. God bless you, and let's hope by the time you get to be my age, you'll still be able to walk and stand up straight, and will have all that nonsense out of your system! 🤣
