Given to us life and love.... Forced on us pain and suffering.... It is not for us a life comfortable, unchanging..... We must become like the flame, burning, strong, hot, raging
This was made by the same person who made Elite lol. Now we have Dangerous one of the best space games of all time. Dang I need to start playing ED again :)
This has to be the same engine as that tank game lol. I played the SHIT out of them both and was terrible when I was like 5 years old on my dads Acorn Archimedes. I wish wed kept that old POS it was hilarious.
Impressive as a tech demo, but must be appalling to play, without a mouse or even analogue joystick. Wonder whether a beeb port would be feasible... Memory limitations perhaps, but if not should be a bit faster and possibility of analogue joystick.
Damn! Never thought to look for game capture of Zarch on YT before. Played it on a housemate's BBC back in 89, I found if held the mouse in one hand and used the ball like a tracker with the other I could ace it - got an invite to the Zarch championships (held the previous year!) after playing for a couple of weeks!
Years back they used to run the Which Computer Show at the NEC in Birmingham. Our college managed to get tickets so our course group went. It was amazing but it was also when Zarch was first shown in public and you could have a go. I literally hogged the machine for AGES - this thing was unlike anything anyone had made and it was mind blowing at the time.
Patrice was roasting British comics once because he proved that he can do standup well in both America and then come to England and do it just as well. Some British comics legit cant tour in America no matter how good they are because the humor and references dont translate as well. While Patrice can stand in front of any English speaking crowd in the entire world and rule.
I remember seeing this game on our school computers in the early 90's. I had no idea how to play it or what the objective was, so I didnt spend much time on it. I clearly remember these distinct visuals though. Its very impressive for something from the 80's.
