ive been watching your videos since before I even got into uoft and now I'm starting in the fall! your videos are so inspirational and get me excited for university <3
Hi! Just to confirm, First Year Seminars can count as electives during course enrolment? Also, what's the difference between a course like CHM135 (as mentioned in your video) and an elective?
@@anwitaganesh7705 Hi! Yes, first year seminars are often used as electives. A course like CHM135 is a general lifesci course that is a prerequisite for all lifesci programs, so everyone must take it. An elective is a course you choose that you don’t necessarily need. However, if your program requires a prerequisite, for example a psych major needs PSY100, then it is best to do PSY100 as one of your electives!
Hello! For some programs, mat136 is not a requirement. I believe beside the chm136 corequisites, it says recommended. This may have changed throughout the years, so I would double check with an academic advisor. But I know many lifesci students who did not take mat136! Hope this helps!
Hi Alisha! Sure! I was admitted into the Paris summer abroad program for FAH393: Renaissance and Baroque Art and Architecture. It was a 4 week course from the department of art history (I am an art history minor), and it is 1.0 credits. You can find more info here: summerabroad.utoronto.ca/program/france-paris
Hello Alessia! You mentioned that the classes are competitive and it’s hard to make friends. Can you please elaborate on that? Like are the people unsupportive and mean?
Is it difficult to get into life sciences in second year? I got in for humanities. I'm thinking of doing a double major thing with humanities + life sci. Also, do you know if its possible to do a management specialist + humanities minor^
Great video....are you at Scarborough or downown? Scarborough seems to be the most focused on the Life Sciences? This question is for a niece who is a dual citizen living in the US. I am a UofT grad as is one of my sons and as was my Dad so I am trying to convince her to come north. She actually travelled into Boston every day when she was not at her high school to volunteer in a chem lab...Any insight you could help in my mission would be most welcome. Thanks in advance.
Looking forward to summer vlogs -if you plan on doing any-about the summer abroad program. I want my son to take one next year in France but in history. Until this year, they offered one in Tourraine for years. No history courses this year in France nor England for which they offered one at Oxford. Strange
Hi Alessia, I’ve been admitted to U of T life science for both St George and Scarborough campus. I’m still deciding between the two. I don’t really know what my options are when it comes to choosing major and minor since the u of t website does not specify it. Do you mind sharing some advices to me? I really have no idea how university works. Thanks!
I just got into physical and mathamatical sciences with membership to Woodsworth college! I'm thinking about living in res for my first year and this video was really useful. I've been watching a lot of your videos recently to prepare for university and they're all so helpful. I can't wait to start uni this september! Maybe I'll see you on campus :)
Hello, Can you make an information vlog about your application process and search for grants and other funding source for your summer abroad program? I think this would really help a lot of people who also want this experience. Love your vlogs
Hello ! Just a question. My dream is to attend UOFT and I already received my acceptance, but I want to follow a pre med path to reach med-school. Do yppu mind me asking you if a high GPA is attainable at UofT
Great vlog , downtown Toronto is one of our favourite spots to visit when we in Toronto, nice to show us the blanket you received great review on it. How is the weather over there? Montreal is extremely cold. We just joined your family and looking forward in staying connected with you💙
Just found your channel recently and I love your videos so much! I just submitted my OUAC today and I applied to UofT engsci and physical mathematical sciences. I really hope I'll get into one of them!
Hello Alessia ! I already applied for the life sciences program ! However I was wondering if it is worth it seeing that I want to proceed into med school so I really need this very high GPA!
Wonderful video. Keep doing ones about the University of Toronto experience. Those are my favorites. Perhaps explore a theme over a vlog series. For example, the different colleges, POSt requirements, clubs.
Hi! Thank you for your feedback! I will definitely make more of these since its uni application time! You can find more videos like this under my playlist "University of Toronto" if you'd like! Im glad you enjoyed :)
I do. I also like that you do not go into what I call "influencer mode". i.e. standing in front of a long mirror, posing, pouting and holding your phone in front of you. OR dream scape mode, i.e. very long footage of you making coffee or prepping meals with elevator or dreary music instead of words. So boring....@@alessiaisabella
