What's up! My name is Clayton and I'm currently a CFI-I in Upstate South Carolina. I'm working towards a career in aviation and this channel is my way of sharing my journey and helping others learn as well.
How do you sleep at night!? This approach would haunt my dreams! AMAZING! As a VFR pilot, you inspire me. If I were wealthier and younger, this would be my siren song; it draws me in. I would aspire to earn my IFR rating. Thx so much for sharing.
Instrument training is life saving! I know money is always a challenge, but I encourage anyone who can to do instrument training. I would not be nearly as confident in my flying abilities without the excellent instruction I received.
Thanks for sharing. There’s a lot of CFI checkride prep that goes into it and forgetting one or two things can happen to anyone. You’re going to be a great CFI to your future students.
Good afternoon. Love this video and thank you so much for the information. I’m trying to apply for a student pilot certificate and it’s asking me for to meet with a Recommending Instructor or Certifying Officer. Where can I find one to finish completing my student pilot certification application?
You should always have mixture set for best power for takeoff. This flight was on a hot day. Hot air means the air is less dense. Since the air is less dense, leaning the mixture produces more power by managing the ratio of fuel to air.
Taxiing challenges: Maintain situational awareness. Be aware of hold short lines, ensure you have a clearance at a controlled airport and look up and down the runway to verify there is no traffic prior to crossing. Sterile cockpit
I went through these videos and followed along making notes on my own lesson plans. I wish you had a video for every section because I feel like the flow and content covered is a perfect pace for teaching new students. Besides the mock oral from FlyMA there isn't that much on youtube to prep for the checkride, so this is really helpful
"Good luck. You're gonna do it. You're gonna make him proud." Man, that comment made chills run though my spine. Can only imagine the pressure you were under. However, I'm sure your grandpa would have been proud of you regardless.
I know it's been awhile but don't stress about this, your videos are helping me a lot for my cfi training, check ride is in two days. BUT, I have failed a check ride because of slow flight before (even after passing pwr off stalls). It's hard to admit failure over such a simple thing but you definitely do remember the small things after something like that!
Thank for taking the time to make this videos .Im in the middle of my cfi training and you really explained everything easy to understand. Keep it up you have a lot of potential on your channel.
Extremely helpful and informative video. Great presentation skills, and technical quality. Looking forward to viewing your other videos. Thanks for your guiding lessons. Hope it helps our new breed of upcoming pilots.
1st class medical is always a first class medical. However after it expires it's still called the first class medical, but you can only exercise the privileges of a second-class medical and then ultimately exercise the privilege of a third Class medical privileges.
@@JH-qqqqqiim 1st class for 12 months, then 6 months 1st class as 2nd class privileges, then 6 months 1st class as 3rd class privileges. Total of 24 calendar months
Nobody mentions the student is going to have a check ride in an hour after getting a phone number and possible deviation. How did that check ride go? I would like to hear the controller tell the DPE on how to give a check ride.
I am a Professional pilot with 44 years experience. I have heard my fair share of rants over the radio. I found this controller took the issue a little too far. It was almost like he was trying to provoke the pilot to say something off colored back and then creating a bigger issue.
Appreciate this comment! Sorry for the delayed response. Trying to catch up on replying to comments! I use a Sony A7III. Before I began flight training, I worked as a videographer so I still have a lot of my equipment!
Great video bud. Totally agree, always follow the centerline but also make sure you are clearing obstacles…I’ve seen other planes way to close to centerline that made my c-130 dev off of centerline and I’ve seen some really high plowed snowbanks that would clip a wing if pilots weren’t paying attention!
Thanks Clayton for your honesty and selfless example. That’s the kind of instructor anybody would want. Your Grandpa is just as proud of you for that as for passing the check ride. I struggle sometimes with honesty in a misguided attempt to spare hurt feelings. Doesn’t work. I’m scheduled for my CFI check ride this coming June with said DPE. Thanks to you, I will not forget clearing turns. 😂
