I don't mind if invisible people wanna hang out in my house as long as they pick up things they knock down and turn off the water they leave on...and keep their invisible pets outside!!! Sheesh!
Good movie but oh my god does Isaac overact. The dubbing doesn’t bother me coz I don’t mind watching foreign movies but I just don’t understand y they did it in this movie when the actors were clearly speaking English anyway
im 5 mins in and had to pause and look at the comments.. i didn't go down that far but the acting so far is really bad.. maybe it gets better or the story is so good that people like this.. but i just can't get through the cringe acting
While this had an emotional realism and dealt with something that people should understand better in mental health. The acting/writing of interpersonal dialogue in the film made it hard to enjoy it. Words aren't usually running out of peoples mouths at full speed. There should be some nuance to interpersonal relationships. I thought this was just the sync problem, but it was more than that. This happens in dubbed foreign films. The new reader doesn't get the subtext and isn't the highly paid actor who read the line originally, so you get choppy speaking at each other sounds sometimes. It cuts the suspension and takes away from my enjoyment quite a bit. I don't say this to bash your studio or say you suck. I liked your plot and concept. I wish you'd continue to make more, but w/o criticism, there is no one telling you what they'd like to see improved on. When the actors speak, it should sound like your friends would if they were talking. If it sounds unnatural, it's because it is and people can tell. Even in situations when the world is unnatural like in this, most viewers latch on the the normal things they can hold on to, to make sense of the world. I'm just one guy, and most people here are willing to look past that. In your hearts however, you know that if you want a wider audience, You have to consider all feedback. This was good, and it could have been a lot better with the audio sync done right and the actors told to slow down. Not full on take some of those pills slow down, but maybe get a little more comfy behind the camera. Just my two cents. Please don't hate. I'm not.
I have no idea what the point of this movie was. The protagonists's acting was inconsistent and not very good (at times feeling as if this was a comedy, as when he threatened to call the police next time). Many of the strange things happening didn't fit together (why was the water running, what was that thing with people disappearing, where did the creaturescome from, why was it able to speak with Dale's voice?). The red herring of the mental illness felt forced. In the end it was just a mess.
I think this is one of the best short films I've ever seen. I actually teared up a little when he was saying goodbye to go to treatment. Then after he left I was wondering if his brother and that girl were in cahoots. But the ending, when the aliens peeked around the corner - scary but fun. Great work!
This post-production OVA is pretty mediocre and the main character is an oblivious and naieve doofus, but I'm still hanging in there hoping this'll get better.
Formulaic, with mediocre acting (at best), and reasonable suspense.. but what the heck happened to the original sound track that made this horrific dubbing necessary!? It is awful.
Am I the only one who can’t get past the voice overs in this thing? It seems so robotic and emotionless I’m pretty sure the original audio is in English
