No you had a true scary emotion reaction like we all have watching this movie I was 11 years old when it came out so didn't know too much about sharks and I thought it was an awesome movie at the time there were no special effects they had to make it on the fly so an eight out of ten that's fair thank you for sharing your reaction to Jaws

I was impressed that you mentioned the tide and where the body was found nobody has talked about the shark's eyes like you and the Silhouettes as well as the cinematography background shots so for you not seeing this movie I am very impressed with your Insight you have a gift and reading people I guess

Whenever I see someone watch this movie and make predictions, I always sit there like: "You have no idea, I am so sorry". Ugh, to watch this movie for the first time again would be incredible, but I'm also glad I know the end (now I just stop the movie after the play, that is how I cope lol)

I enjoyed hearing about your boarding school experiences. I went to an all-girls boarding school in the south of England during the 90s. I went there from the age of 8 until I was 18, and I loved it (I started asking if I could go when I was 6). I loved the fact that I got to live with my friends and we grew up really close. It wasn’t a particularly strict school, the teachers weren’t allowed to whack you with anything and we didn’t have to call the teachers ‘sir’, though I do still to this day finish everything on my plate and make my bed in the mornings. It became my home far more than the place where my family lived. We loved this movie and watched it a lot. It stimulated my, and some of my friends, stirring interest in English Lit, and I went on to study History and English at university. We also enacted the ‘o captain my captain’ scene from the end a few times - yes, we were a weird bunch. Really enjoyed your reaction and insights. 🙂

In the original script, Sport was a black character, but they cast Harvey Keitel partly to avoid starting race riots in the theaters.

Um....why would you edit out your emotional (crying) reaction to the film? That's the whole point of why we watch someone react to an emotional film like this (to watch you feel what we feel)....kind of a rip off, frankly.

Thank you for pointing out the racism regarding black men you often find this in Scorses's films. Although I am a huge fan, I think his perception of black men is less than admirable.

I don't usually comment on reaction videos but this is very well edited. you get the flow of the story as well as the flow of the reaction. It's a shame you have so few videos, I'm sure you could get a decent following with this quality of content.

I really loved your reaction. Sorry for my english, I'm from Chile. I think Robin Williams and Neil saved Todd. I see him becoming a poet. I just read an article about some interesting facts about the movie (for example, that Robin Williams was going through a depression when they we're shooting the movie, because he had divorced reacently; Peter Weir did not allow the actors to use modern phrases during the whole process; the cast had to sleep in the same room, and watch a movie from the 50s everyday) and that made me want to see it again. I started searching for scenes in RU-vid and I met with your reaction. In the video that you reacted to they didn't include a scene that really elevates me everytime I see it, so I would like to share it. Peace and love from Chile m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--7OE6bDfM2M.html

Travis is a racist character. Originally Iris's pimp was black in the script but they decided against that in the movie.

As a teacher myself, I disagree with your thoughts on education and conformity. I maintain that schooling is conformity while educating is not. Many people use these words as synonyms, although the two are very different.

The reason you don't see the Shark that often, was because of mechanical problems. Bruce kept sinking. So Spielberg being a genius even back then, used that to create more suspense, and fear of the unknown, by only showing Bruce sparingly.

Actually Hooper did help. He brought the airtanks on board, and one of them was used to kill the Shark.

One of the very best movies ever made, it’s been hugely influential to future filmmakers such as myself and even Todd Philips who made Joker (2019), Scorsese actually has two cameos in the movie one is the husband who is gonna kill his wife for having an affair but he also appears earlier in the black t shirt sitting down outside the campaign office when the girl who Travis has a crush on walks past in slow motion, Jodie was only 12 when she made this movie (she may have actually been 13 but I might be wrong on that) and her mom had to be on set everyday to make sure that the scenes weren’t too risqué, her sister (not a twin) would replace her for the more inappropriate shots, this movie also ended up being a part of a psychological obsession with John Hinckley Jr and he would mimic Bickle’s assassination attempt by being the one who attempting to kill Ronald Reagan in 1982

"Jaws" is not the first movie to gross over $100 million at the box office. That's a common misconception. "Jaws" was the first film to gross $100 million in DOMESTIC RENTALS. The rental figure is the amount of money the studio gets back from the box office gross. The box office gross is split between the studio that made and released the film and the movie theaters that show the film. The figure is not exact, but the general rule of thumb is a 50/50 split between the movie theaters and the studio. "Jaws" made $260 million at the domestic box office (North America) so the rental figure that went back to the studio was around half that ($130 million), hence why "Jaws" was the first to earn $100 million in domestic rentals. Plenty of movies made over $100 million at the domestic box office before "Jaws", including "The Sound of Music", "Doctor Zhivago", "The Graduate", "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid", "Love Story", "Airport", "The Godfather", "The Exorcist", "The Sting", "American Graffiti", "Blazing Saddles" and "The Towering Inferno".
