Honest, brave man. One correction. It was briefly mentioned that Baha’i is Hindu. This is inaccurate. The Baha’i Faith is an independent world religion that claims to fulfill the expectations of the Bible, the Muslim prophecies a as well as Buddhist and Hindu prophecies.

This is what Christianity looks like when you don't have someone at the top of a man-made hierarchy telling you "my way or the highway!" And the antithesis of where all that animus comes from when folks object to organized religion.

I too wasn’t angry when Mormonthink revealed the facts to me. Had been inactive for a decade. Why? I knew the true nature of Mormonism. When my dad abandoned our prosperous perfect family in favor of partying and adultery, the leaders and ward blamed it on my sweet devoted Mother. He didn’t pay a dime to his wife and 7 kids, bought a Benz and a bachelor pad, started donging any lady willing. Hearing bishops say “he must have left for some reason” Seeing leaders tell “yer dad is awesome” stories to my destitute grieving mother was eye opening. Mormon kids wouldn’t play w us or date us. I know, if I heard this I’d think “ must be more to the story” but there isn’t. Mom had 3-4 jobs and ladies in our wealthy ward mocked her for giving out samples at grocery store, her 4 TH job on weekends. She never went after him for $, he owed 150k. Courts would have garnished wages, she didn’t wanna embarrass him. Our ward treated her like Typhoid Mary. Moving to a poor ward helped a bit. It was the most unchristian behavior I could ever imagine.

The restorationist themes expressed in Mormonism came from Sidney Rigdon, who had previously been a preacher in the American Restoration Movement (Stone/Campbell), which predated the Mormon Movement in the early 1800's. The American Restoration Movement was not Mormon at all but was a trans denominational movement in early American Christian circles dedicated to a return to a primitive Christian model as a solution for the dilemma of sectarian Christianity, which it's divisive nature was deemed to be antagonistic with Christian teaching in the New Testament. The ecumenism of the American Restoration Movement didn't work, of course, but it did foster an interest in the return to the primitive church, which remains until this day.

This video makes me lose respect for Mr. Palmer. There is such a high number of ex mormons that turn atheist because they apply the same critical thinking to the Bible that they did to the mormon church. He said in this video that he thinks it's a huge waste of talent if there isn't anything after this life. He is willing to look past all the issues the Bible has and say, Just have faith and do what is right, and Jesus will be there. That is the same way leaders of the mormon church talk. For such an intelligent man, you would think he could be honest and acknowledge the issues in the Bible. It's the same thing the church leaders do with church history. Ignore the problems and focus on the few words of good things Jesus said, forget the rest. How can everyone not see it's the same thing. All churches do the same thing!

I can see how hard it is if your born into it to leave it. I have tried to study the various sects of Christianity but the more I've studied Mormon the more fascinated I am with Lying how if you believe your life has been a lie how gullible or apt you are to continuing the lie because dealing with the reality that your faith has been wrong is too difficult. A human frailty all of us can have in the right circumstances. Mormons however recruit others into a world of lies which is really why I can not just say let them be they have knocked on my door.

People have discovered that section 132 wasn't added until almost 50yrs after JS died. Section 101 from the original 135 D&C and I believe the Book of Commandments. I'm still learning there was so much corruption in the early church and it continues on today. I know that BY was wicked and disgusting. I'm still learning and trying to figure out JS. In the current D&C it states that the church is under condemnation since it's inception. It's all right there. I've decided, now that I don't need to know all these things, but that I need to learn how to come closer to Christ. I've had amazing spiritual experiences and it's been wonderful. I'm grateful for my learning journey. I decided it doesn't matter what these people have or haven't done as long as I can come closer to God and teach my children to do so as well. We don't need a go between between us and Christ. Christ is THE way He is the mediator He is the one who stands at the gate and employs no other servant there!

As far as I know, Smith claimed to be a true prophet. And at least some of his prophecies didn't come to pass. Yet Mormonism teaches that if even just one of a prophet's prophecies do not come to pass, he cannot be a true prophet. That should cinch it for anyone. The rest is just quibbling, compared to that glaring deficiency.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most painful cancers to die from. One of my brothers-in-law died from it. Brother Palmer is now in the Spirit World and knows for certainty whether his apostasy was worth it. I am sure that you readers would be delighted if he was correct but what if he was wrong? Has The Lord Jesus Christ sent him back to Earth to reassure you that he was correct in apostatising from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? Surely The Lord would consider it important enough to allow Brother Palmer to come to Earth as an Angel and spread the truth. Or perhaps The Lord Jesus Christ is peeved with Brother Palmer for breaking his sacred covenants and bearing false witness. There are a possible maximum number of interpretations of the words and verses of the KJV Bible of 353 TRILLION. Is it any wonder then that there are 45,000 Christian denominations worldwide? I suggest that you be very careful in who you disrespect.
@fayelewis5476
@fayelewis5476 2 года назад
There are over 100 sects of Mormonism based on one book. How do you know that your sect is the correct one? There are not 45,000 Protestant denominations. Even under the most liberal definition of what constitutes a denomination, there are nowhere close to 30,000 Protestant denominations. The only way to get even remotely close to that figure is to count every minor separation as an entirely different denomination. Further, the vast majority of Protestant Christians belong to just a handful of the most common Protestant denominations; i.e., Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, Pentecostal, etc. The 45,000 Protestant denominations argument is an extreme exaggeration of the reality of the divisions within Protestantism. Christ said that Latter-day Saints would be condemned. Jesus said your sins would not be forgiven if you did not believe He was God. John 8:19 So they were saying to Him, “Where is Your Father?” Jesus answered, “You know neither Me nor My Father; if you knew Me, you would know My Father also.” 24 Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”

Leaving the Mormon church is totally worth it. Joseph Smith was apostate from Christianity. He didn't like the true and living God the Father, so he invented his own god, an 'exalted man' from another planet with a body of flesh and bone that had to work his way to godhood, lives near a star named Kolob and is out sleeping with other women, just like Joseph Smith was doing. It's called idolatry, when you invent a god of your imagination. Then he promised his followers, the men at least, endless sex on their own planet. People like me who deny polygamy will be damned. D&C 132 Sounds scary, eh? It's called lying. Joseph Smith said that Christ was a created being the brother of Lucifer. It's called blasphemy of the highest order. It is why no Latter-day Saint will ever get into heaven. It is the unpardonable sin. There is no salvation in any church. I urge you to read your Bible. Eternity is a long time to be wrong.

The Lord also didn't send anyone off the pervious dead prophets back to earth to me or anyone else to tell us that what they taught was true. Best story out there is that Brigham claimed Joseph came back in a dream in a hurry and told him to tell the people keep the holy ghost. That's is. Not much reassurance to live on. My parents have both passed and came back to me in dreams showing me the hereafter. Nothing like what I was taught in church. I trust that more than what prophets have said.

Reading The Holy Bible , acknowledgement of our Almighty Creator God and accepting the sacrifice at the cross of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ is ALL we need for a satisfying and complete relationship with our gracious GOD . Mormonism has nothing to add to what God has already given to us ! And as new evidence about the mormon “church” come to light including science , archeology , DNA etc and etc , we end up with the fantasy of the bucket full of holes that could not hold any water. It is so sad that so many thousands of genuine people have been deceived in such a snakeish way ! !

* I'm a Mormon. It's uplifting when we can convince others that how we think and feel is correct and fosters personal happiness. But no one likes what I have to say about the church. And I'm not out to be liked. I believe the Scriptures not man. And if something is taught that can't be verified by Scripture think twice about believing it. I understand why so many people are leaving the church. Many false doctrines exist causing countless videos mocking Mormonism. False doctrines like Mormons becoming gods of their own planets, Adam helped create the earth, Christ and Satan are brothers all of which no Scripture verifies. And many are leaving the church because if you don't fit the mold the church leaders sculpture you're not a part of the click. Mormons believe the church leaders over Scripture. The zealous believers have the church leaders in mind with everything thing they think say and feel testifying to impress others how much they believe the current church leaders are God-inspired. But the Scriptures reveal the church leaders are the problem with the entire planet. For example, in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 we are informed of a person revealed as the son of perdition. This son of perdition sits in the temple of God making himself God or above all that is called God. Therefore, if the Mormon church is the only true church, and I believe it is and will back that belief using the Scriptures, then the only person 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 could be talking about is the current Mormon prophet. For what other church is the one and only true church with temples? And Joseph Smith taught a son of perdition can only be a church member holding all the rites of God's priesthood and using the priesthood against God as did Judas. Therefore, who else other than the current Mormon prophet could the apostle Paul be speaking of? It's as plain as the nose on a face. And even God in the Doctrine and Covenants tells us about the current church leaders and how displeased He is saying the end of this world will begin among them. (D&C 112:23-26) And the current Mormon prophet is the son of perdition because he has all the saints believing God our Heavenly Father was created by a being greater than Himself. (Hebrews 6:13) Therefore, the son of perdition has all the saints breaking the first commandment God gave Moses, Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Does it make sense to reasonable thinking that God would command we have no other gods before Him but really there are? Does He not want us to know this? There’s a reason He commanded to have no other gods before Him. Because by believing in false grandpa gods the saints believe our God is an infinitely lesser God putting Lucifer before God. And the moment we put a god before our God, our God becomes an infinitely lesser God. Not only that, our God also becomes a liar. He and the Scriptures says He is the greatest of all. He and the Scriptures says He is the Most High God. He and the Scriptures say He created all things. And in the Scriptures He says over and over there are no gods beside Him. (Isaiah 44:6) (Isaiah 44:8) (Isaiah 45:22) (Hebrews 6:13) Therefore, the saints believing there are gods before Him is the saints believing the son of perdition or the current Mormon prophet over the Scriptures and God calling Him and the Scriptures a lie. And Isaiah warns, Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20) The saints call the son of perdition (President Nelson) good and good (Jesus Christ) evil. Because President Nelson says Christ and His Father are liars. President Nelson says Christ did not create all things. (John 1:1-3) Matter/energy cannot be created or destroyed the scientists say therefore the son of perdition or President Nelson says the grandpa gods created these calling Christ and the Scriptures a lie. Well did Abinadi warn the wicked king Noah and his priests, Have ye taught this people that they should observe to do all these things for to keep these commandments? (Mosiah 13:25) I say unto you, Nay; for if ye had, the Lord would not have caused me to come forth and to prophesy evil concerning this people. (Mosiah 13:26) And what is the commandment Abinadi taught that the people do not obey? Thou shalt have no other God before me. (Mosiah 12:35) Know ye not that I speak the truth? Yea, ye know that I speak the truth; and you ought to tremble before God. (Mosiah 12:30)

Just maybe… the Book of Mormon is not scripture? True facts are not necessarily anti-Mormon propaganda. Grant was NOT excommunicated from the Church. He is a member. Why do you call him anti-Mormon simply because he believes differently from you based on evidences he’s found? His opinions are based on his facts found in history vs your “feelings” and your personal interpretation of scripture. Try putting your Mormon ego aside for a moment and read Grant’s first book called Mormon Origins. If reading a book doesn’t work for you, then maybe scan the CES LETTER online at CES letter.com for less than 100 printed pages of evidences presented in LDS published materials. Please do yourself a favor, like this very active church membership for 42 years elderly sister (I could have been your RS President!), and allow yourself to set your Mormon ego aside for less than one day to look at the evidence - some found in the President’s Vault in Salt Lake City. The real “truth” exists if you allow yourself to look. Best wishes.

@@gailcapshaw397 I don’t what you are accusing me of I said nothing about Grant and I don’t say he is anit-Mormon. Where did you get that? And what make you say I go by feelings? I go by the Scriptures and just maybe the Book of Mormon is not Scripture but all logic and reason including the spiritual, guides me to believe the Book is true in accordance with the Bible. And just as you said to me, “the real truth exists if you allow yourself to look” works both ways if that if you really are a truth seeker you would sincerely read the Bible and the Book of Mormon and believe what is spoke by Ezekiel in chapter 37 saying the Bible and Book of Mormon would come forth. CES Letters and Grant’s books will not tell me if the words of the Bible and Book of Mormon hold truth only by reading can one make that decision.
