I am being a complete nerd and over analyzing, but I think Brenda saved Dylan from himself as did Brandon and the Walsh family. He had the stability of a family and was the best version of himself with Brenda. When Jim Walsh rejected him at the end of S2 I think that was the last straw for Dylan. Who not only had abandonment issues but deep insecurities and made to feel he wasn't good enough to have the life with Brenda. He went to Kelly because they have similar backgrounds and have known each other for years and he put all this 'soulmate' stuff on to her to convince himself they should be together. But really he was trying to pull himself away from Brenda because he couldn't take anymore rejection. This is proved in this clip where Dylan 'chose' Kelly because Brenda couldn't go to the party because of Jim again, that sealed the deal for Dylan. Kelly was the easier option for him because there would be no trouble from her family and she's not as independent as Brenda. However, Dylan seemed to realise in s4 that Kelly wasnt the 'soulmate' he thought she was and started to go back to Brenda, but Brenda wouldn't cross that line. All the things that made Kelly seem like the better option such as not being as independent led to her nagging him all the time and constantly needing his attention. Plus Kelly's insecurities about Brenda and Dylan's bond strained their relationship. In the end once the lust and excitement wore out, Kelly and Dylan had nothing left.
Yuuuup. I remember physically wincing when I first watched it. And it’s such a realistic story, I’ve known kids who hv done the exact thing he did, with other injuries. It’s heartbreaking for sure
reminded me of my friend telling me she would make herself fall down the stairs so that she wouldn't have to go to her soccer practice with bullies, she sprained her own ankle and dislocated her own shoulder because no one would listen to her about the way they treated her :/
Physical attraction is important but I don't think Kelly was just sex. When Brenda came back he couldn't get Kelly out of his head and was pushing Brenda away. But Jim definitely 😂. No one could handle Jim
Ive always wanted Jeff and Annie to be the endgame and i still believe thats how it should’ve been, but i love so much how Britta and Jeff’s relationship went from the main romantic interest of the show to basically best friends. This show is really fucking well written for a sitcom
In Jeff's speech to his dad, he says that he's been keeping cards twenty-two years since seventh grade, which would make his age in S4 34-35. In S5, however, he admits that he's forty. Since both scenes are emotionally raw moments for him, it'd seem that he's telling the truth in both, which means that the only logical explanation is that a wizard did it.
