Hey... Hope everyobody is doing great. Im having issues to sync my Op-1 to my Ep133. When I send midi out from the Ep133 using a TRS or USB cable, the Op-1 wouldn't receive it. When in Metronome I can't even see the EXT sign to link mode. What am I doing wrong? What can I do to fix it?? Thanks!!
lol, @1:40 your op-1 is quiet because you had the volume all the way down on it 😂😂 If you look at the screen @1:47 there is a tiny red dot on the right of the op-1's screen that is in line with the bottom of the tape wheels. That is your tape volume and it is at its lowest. You need to crank the volume up on than boy.
Just got a used Sample - tried to update to PAJEN from PC - no luck, multiple cables and vol settings tried. I switched over to an Iphone 6, got it to go after several tries found that it worked at about 95% volume. Appreciate all the content in this video!
Great video Man. I appreciate that you were slow and methodical and pointing out what button you were clicking and what function it did and why you were clicking it during the video. That helped me a lot as a newbie to the OP1. Blessings.
OOOP-ZZ...!!* Hye there :) I see so many people struggeling with the connections between two of your loved machines : OP-Z (With the OpLab) + VOLCA (Bass, Sample, etc). Since there are these options with : CV1, CV2, CV3, Gate, Midi IN, Midi Out, Trig, PO, It really becomes kinda not so obvious how to connect what cable from what end etc. I'd personnaly be thrilled being able to control my volcas from the OP-Z so to have a simple efficient live set up. Also big issue trying tons of ways to record seperated patterns (tracks) from a project into Logic or Abbleton from the Op-Z, looks like I'm not the only one. I've also tried underbridge software but gives me empty tracks. Think could be tons of cool topics ;) You do things in great way, fun and helpful / detailed Bests
No way in hell is the OP-1 worth $2000... It's not even worth $300... The brainless vanity is the same as buying a $2000 iPhone when a $99 Android does all the same things... Dumb...
The great thing about MIDI though is that you can fix everything, anytime. You can even re-write the whole thing if you change your mind, change the instrument altogether. You video is a real eye-opener. Thank you!
MIDI is a freaking nightmare. I could never figure it out, I'm getting all sorts of weird sounds, noises, and even some hilarious spontaneous arpeggios, which I need to change program for them to go away until the next time. Not for me, thank you. I route my iPad into an analog input on my Focusrite and into Logic, the old fashioned way.
I just listened ot your Nervous Album, what the ef, it's so cool, so smooth! Could you tell me more about yourworkflow? Did you use daw in the production process? I imagine you mixed with Logic/Ableton and mastered it there, but what about production: ) is it really that capable
Thanks, I'm Glad you liked the album! All the dongs were written on the OP-1 and recorded into a stereo wav on a zoom h5 with the exception of the two songs with vocals. For those, I recorded the vocals in Logic and for the Under the Covers song, I added some guitar and synth layers that weren't in the original OP-1 version. I also added a lot of processing in my attempt to clean up the mixes but I didn't really know what I was doing at the time haha. If I were to do it over again, I'd probably try to stem it all out and do a proper mix and master but I kind of like how lofi it feels the way it is.✌
@@BradTennant It's really brilliant, I'm an amateur musician and I wouldn't say it sounded bad, maybe audio levels differ sometimes, but that could be an interesting addition to the songs. Well done! So should I get op-1? I think I should :D
@@user-zi2hg6mu2e I appreciate it! As long as you go into getting an OP-1 with the understanding that there is a learning curve and a lot of limitations, I think you'd be alright. Especially if you understand that those limitations are what makes the OP-1 so fun to make stuff with!
I'll be back at some point. Every time I get ready to post new videos, work/life stuff just gets in the way. I have been making music tho so I'll have plenty to share when I do come back!
