I need a bit of help. Can you confirm something for me, please? I got a new eMTB. It came with the 160 mm Fox Float X. It came with a 0.9 volume spacer in the rear shock. I weigh 270 lbs at the moment, but I feel I can't get my sag set to 30%. The PSI is maxing out at the same as my weight, 270 PSI. With the 0.9 spacer inserted, I am about 35% to 40% sag. I could do with at least another 20 PSI to bring the shock to sag. From my understanding of the loss of max PSI in the EVOL can with adding spacers, if I remove it and put in a 0.6 or 0.7, I should, in theory, be able to get the extra PSI I need?
@JakeBrookesBiking
@JakeBrookesBiking 2 месяца назад
@@EMTBonsai Hello, sorry about my slow reply… Ideally volume spacers should be left until sag is set correctly and the bike has been ridden to see how it feels and how progressive or linear it is. However I understand your issue, I would say give it a go and see what you find 😊 As long as you do not go over the max pressure for your shock then you shouldn’t have any issues. Just be aware that reducing the volume spacers size will make the bike more linear and easier to bottom out. On the other hand adding a volume spacer or increasing the volume spacers size will increase how progressive your bike is. If your running a large amount of sag - this will certainly help to reduce bottom outs I would personally start by trying a slightly larger volume spacer, go back to your max pressure and see where you sit with sag 😊 I’m sorry I can’t give you a definitive answer but hopefully the info above is helpful.

Interesting I just fitted the new enduro one's and can't get them to stay on my new emtb! Pedal forward they unscrew and fall off its a brand new bike and brand new Pedals had to dig the left out my shin yesterday when happened again! Just wondering if this was the right way round or if they should tighten when pedalling like my old bike's? Sound pretty stupid asking this it does have the R and L stamped on them and on correct it's not the spindle unscrewing it's the actual Pedal from crank arms!?
@JakeBrookesBiking
@JakeBrookesBiking 2 месяца назад
Hello 😊 The left pedal will not go into the right crank arm and the right pedal should not go into the left crank arm as the threads are opposite. They do need a nip to stay in place. I can’t see why they would come loose if they are nipped tight… it might be worth tightening them up a little more or maybe using some loctite, however this isn’t usually needed 😊 How are the bearings? Are they a little stiff? I hope this helps 😊

Had a pair fitted in my E bike for a couple of years now. last weekend i had a folat due to me damaging the rim tape when i installed the tyre so I rode it 5 miles back to the car park at about 80 to 90 % as hard as I would with it inflated. i was so impressed that when i got back to the car i deliberately deflated the front too and rode a short section of red trail close to the car park with both tyres fully deflated. Ok so it felt like i was running with about 5 to 10 PSI and did feel a bit squishy but Ive got to be honest, it was far from horrible, It cornered Ok and the wheels wernt making a thudding sound as they rolled across lumps bumps and roots. Im wondering now if I'll ever bother to carry my CO2 inflater and plug kit with me again.

my shock pump loses air everytime i take out the shock pump and doesnt put any air inside the pump can you help me??
@JakeBrookesBiking
@JakeBrookesBiking 3 месяца назад
Hello, 👋 When you connect the shock pump to the shock or fork, the air pressure will drop slightly. This is down to the air volume being shared between the suspension air chamber and the shock pump, instead of just being in the suspension air chamber, leading to a slight drop in pressure. When you disconnect the shock pump from the fork or shock there will be a hissing noise as the shock pump looses its pressure. The pressure in the fork or shock should not change though as the valve is closed before the seal between the shock pump and fork or shock is opened. If you are losing a significant amount of air when removing the shock pump, or the shock pump is not pressurising the fork or shock, then you may have a faulty shock pump. Make sure the pump connection is clean and clear and ensure the pump itself is not loose in any way. If your pump still isn’t working correctly, then I would replace the shock pump. I hope this helps

I would suggest looking at the Martello. It sits between the Agarro and the Mazza and it is available in the same trail casing as the Agarro. It is a fantastic tyre that still rolls very well but provides more all round grip than the Agarro. The Mazza is a brilliant tyre too however it does roll slower than both the Martello and the Agarro. @@thewizard2465 It is a fair climb but it is certainly worth it 😊 They are definitely my favourite sections at Hamsterley

@@Rsquirres Ohh, that’s not good, but I’m glad you found the issue and that’s better than needing a new set of forks 😊
