yeah by this time , nobody should want a port or a remaster of XCX on the Switch. We have the complete Klaus Saga on Switch now , that is there turf. Shouldnt even need to mention that the Switch hardware is just not up to snuff , even XC2 and XC3 lag there from time to time , you cant bring XCX world with everything onto that System , it would make for a much worse experience. A XCX remake with updated graphics and designs like XC:DE (to fix up those plastic doll faces) , new way to handle the map on a single screen device , better performance with less pop-ins in that huge seamless world , better audio tuning so you can hear the NPC dialogue in cutscenes and not be overwhelmed by the to loud backround music , those are the bare minimum things that need to be improved on for a re-release on the next iteration of nintendos console. A few things i would like to see improved but wouldnt be mandatory are : 1. Making it able to do Story Missions without having Elma and Lin forced into the Main Party , they could still get added as Guests tho , the game has 4 Guest slots that are barely used. 2. The NLA Music replaced or improved , cuz its not great and gets annoying very fast. 3. With the Next Iteration of Nintendos Console the Online Experience could be better , so ofc there would need to be adjustments to fit the new System , but they could also improve it by making it more relevant. 4. Restored Cut Content , Celica and Lucifer especially are lacking proper plots. 5. Improved Challenge System , since the original XCX launch they learned a lot on how to make better challenge modes. 6. Some added DLC or so , like Future Connected / Torna / Future Redeemed to answer some of the many unanswered questions.
I really hope the switch 2 will build on the oled and not to og switch. The oled feels so much better, but now I don't want to get one since..you know..so I could only try a friend's, who only bought that one.
Yeah, the OLED was a nice iteration of the Switch for sure. It didn't change too much from a processing standpoint compared to the og, but the OLED screen was a great feature. I think they'll probably build on the infrastructure of the original Switch, but then make a mid gen version with an OLED screen. Either way, I feel like the Switch 2 is going to be a lot more powerful than the current Switch. Also, if they keep or build on the OLED's dock that would be great.
3DS had SpotPass, MiiPlaza, local media players, PictoChat & Offline gaming for local & DL'd games. The NS1 has: A killa screen and speakers- But, no functionality.
Some other things- NSO is fine. But, internet can be... Intermittent. Like on the road, or in a smaller town. The option for physical carts still needs to be a thing (the GameCube HD library for one). Amiibo should definitely have expanded functionality in games: Hold a NG+ Save File, A favorite Pokemon or Special (tradeable) Item. Higher chances at elemental or rarer items... JoyCons- we all know the main complain on these. Not enough select.. Nah it's the sticks, followed by thickness- NS2 JoyCons need to be a little bigger. Defaults majorly limit my play time with hand cramps. Those are what I'd say would make the NS2 a champion console. The Vitality and playfulness of a 3DS, better controllers (in the box), the same OLED and punchy audio. But with (offline local player). Wouldn't hurt to allow side loading of music from an SD card either. And not just WMA. Flac, Vob, AAC...
The big one for me is backwards compatibility. With all the games they just announced for the Switch back in June I feel its very likely anyways. But with my library of over 100 Switch games (no I'm not okay), I would want to have access to those games on the next platform too.
I totally hear you. I think it's pretty likely they'll have backwards compatibility too. Being able to go back and play your older library of games without having to switch consoles (pun fully intended) is always a plus. Hopefully they also make them look and play better on the new console!
@@RhinosIncGaming And if they have the entire Switch library on the new console too, they won't need to drip feed us all the games that were available on Switch. But most importantly it invites all the current Switch users to the new platform and is a massive consumer friendly move. Not doing so would be cannibalistic to the new device as it would deter many current Switch owners from buying the next Nintendo platform.
Yeah, the transitional phase is incredibly important when it comes to early adoption of the console. If consumers feel like they have to start from scratch with a new console (especially if it ends up having a similar name to its predecessor, like Switch 2), they're less likely to purchase. Also, it just adds more value to console.
@@RhinosIncGaming Absolutely! This transition is key for Nintendo to keep the momentum they started with the Switch going. Something as obvious as having full backwards compatibility with data transfer so players can keep their save data either through the cloud or directly transferring the data wirelessly between the two nearby devices would ensure a smooth transition from one generation to the next and would give players stuff to play on the new device while they wait from release window games to release over the following months after the device debuts.
Things I'd also like to see in Nintendo Switch 2: The "Join game" feature from the 3DS and Wii U A notebook feature like "Game Notes" from 3DS "Missions" upgraded to become Nintendo's equivalent to Achievements and Trophies No more friend codes The ability to DM your friends The ability to stream your game to make a full length video without external attachments A top rail for peripherals A TATE-Con for playing vertical screen games The ability to organize your home menu in any order you want like on Wii, DSi, 3DS, and Wii U Controller pack support for Nintendo 64 games on Nintendo Switch 2 Online 4-player support for NES and Super Nintendo games on Nintendo Switch 2 Online Built in cameras Gamecube, DS, and Wii games on Nintendo Switch 2 Online Streetpass that can be done with both your phone and the Switch 2 itself
Those would be so cool to see! Especially, stuff like Streetpass, DMing friends, home menu organization, and Missions getting an upgrade. Awesome list!
One massive problem, this game would be very big and very expensive. Starlink is one of those games on the switch that requires you to do a download because only a part of the game exists in the cartridge. It would be way bigger then both sandbox zelda games. A game like that would require zelda level numbers and expecting starfox to do that let alone be green lit is impossible. Thats ignoring the fact that miyamoto loves using starfox as a way to test unwanted hardware gimmicks and without hardware gimmicks theres no starfox. His logic not mine but I hope he learned his lesson after Zero flopped. Another problem is that starfox has done nothing but changed. StarFox Adventures is a collectaphon adventure game like zelda with some on rail sections that are few and far between. StarFox Assault is a game that fit that perfect middle ground of familiar but different like zelda and 3d mario sequels are. Unfortunately it was unpolished, short, and people were still pissed off about on foot experience in Adventures to give Assaults on foot a try. StarFox Command was more of turn base flight sim with multiple ending and Zero on rail sections. This game is despised for its story, its localization, and the forced stylus controls. Its not until recent years that we have been in this constant loop of the same game over and over again because fans didn't like the changes.
i hope Nintendo will port it to the switch. i dislike how in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 we are an extremely powerful soldiers but the moment our character falls bam! deds. meanwhile in Xenoblade Chronicles X we play as a soldier and fall damage cannot kill us we can also pilot a transforming robot while exploring.
Dont forget the memory it takes, it couldnt even fit on disc and you needed extra packages from the eshop to make the experience smoother. You can play without but you're gonna get worse load times and a less polished game. If you dont have those packages from the eshop already, you cant get them today as eshop on wii u is gone. So yeah if they were to port it, they probably need something with more memory than cartridges as those higher memory ones would be too expensive to mass produce. I would not like it to become a digital exclusive.
Xenoblade X would be great on modern consoles, but I don’t think it’s going to happen because of the sales of it on the Wii U and how Nintendo only gives so much mercy to their smaller franchises. To be fair the first game in the series got a definitive edition on switch (thank goodness), but it also makes sense because it will allow people to play the first game and buy the second one, the sad part about x is that it’s not as connected enough to the klaus saga. Also remastering a game isn’t easy and can be a real pain, although monolith soft are god tier developers so I think they can handle that obstacle. I personally don’t think that the game is going to ported to the switch or its successor but Xenoblade is my favorite series and it deserves a lot more credit as a Nintendo franchise, and also X needs a remaster even if it doesn’t happen I will still hope and pray every night that it does happen. :)
The Wii U didn´t sell well at the time, but the games were super high quality. Xeno X But I should be ported for the Switch 2. Imagine this game with higher resolution (hopefully 4K) <3
I love XCX. I played it again about a month ago. I lost all hope for the game beeing ported when XC3 got announced because i was expecting for X. Only if it is officially announced, i won't belive the game will ever come out
I loved my 50-odd hours with Xenoblade X, and even though it runs very well on emulators, I don't think I would play it again. It's a bit overwhelming. A new generation deserves to play it, though!
Not to spoil, but to paraphrase what Monolithsoft has already stated (and touched on lightly here before not thinking too deep on when Xenoblade Chronicles 3 initially started development): It would be just as expensive to reprogram this game to work on another platform (not just Switch, but any hardware) as it would to make a new game. Financially it's just not viable. Porting the UI alone for all the different modes the GamePad uses is already a Project Manager's nightmare. Too often we forget the PEOPLE factor of games being made. There is no "port to Switch" button. Developers make games, not hardware. Those on the fence need to accept the fact that it's time to buy a Wii U.
A very valid point. There's definitely a lot more nuance to game development that's overlooked by the average consumer. There's more to the porting, remaking, or remastering process and it isn't just throwing money at some devs and saying 'make it happen!'. i've tried it on emulation, work fine, only the reward with connection misses, but seriousl if the world series is on switch, nothing would be greater.
Most likely holiday 2024 for Switch. With the Switch 2 rumored delay and most studios working on Switch 2 stuff, it would make sense to fill this year with ports/remasters. ESPECIALLY if the team that did XB1 on Switch started working on this after XB1 released.
