I passed A6 and A8 on my first attempt this past Saturday, thank you for awesome videos! They are a great help and you explain the systems better than anyone I have seen. Very much appreciate this!!
I have been on road test with customer listening for the concern , the car makes a weird noise and when asked they say oh its always done that i was told its ok , the issue they have is very minor .
Incredibly valuable video! I really appreciate you taking the time to post this Sir. I'm putting together a whole Word document to refer to it later based on all your knowledge. Thank you Mr. Gomez!
DIYer here, love to wrench on all my cars, already have built a couple of Subie motors, but my electrical foundation is wack. I began studying your ASE A6 Electrical Bootcamp video yesterday, thank you for taking the time to post these great videos Sir. Really appreciate it.
Is there going to be a part 2 to this video? All of your other videos have helped me a ton with passing the other ASEs but this seems like a short over view of engine performance. Hope to see more on this!!
My name is Tommy, as a smog technician I just dealt with a customer who asked me to change his spark plugs to fix a misfire. Info he got from AutoZone. I felt so bad for him. It turned out he had no compression in cylinder number 3
My engine only shakes after warming up. Can someone tell me what it might be? I know there are some smart people here. The vehicle barley moves when pressing the gas, smoke or steam coming out of the exhaust pipe, etc. The water pump went bad and I replaced it. I think I had a blown head gasket. I used gasket sealer and the smoke reduced almost completely but when I first turn the vehicle on a puff of smoke comes out. No check engine light. The temperature guage does not go up enough when my scan tool shows a much higher temperature. The engine is knocking. When I remove the upstream oxygen sensors I hear something like clunking or air quickly releasing from the exhaust valve when it shouldn't, on the side that shakes the most. I would really appreciate advice, suggestions, etc. Thank you.
This video was a huge help for me!! Thank you so much, passed my a8 first try thanks to the video. Is there any hope that you'll do I video for the transmission ase test in the future?
It was 60 questions. If you watch the a6 and a8 test prep video it will give you everything you need to pass. Very limited manufacture based questions. I saw one of 2, everything else was pretty generic
I’m a technician over ten years always struggle to pass ase test. Going for this one next what book would you recommend. Just found out about your videos from another tech amazing stuff love the videos.
James Halderman's Engine performance book, however with what I've covered in the class you should be golden. Let me know if you have any other questions.
I have an i20, 2010 model, 1.6.My issue I'm experiencing with the car is that its not driving smoothly as it was. I took it the manufacturer to diagnose the problem and they told me, that compression was low in one of the cylinders, with a 120psi reading and the other 3 were 149 to150 psi between them. So they wanted to strip and see what's the problem and unfortunately I don't the money to cover that cost of stripping .I have read that 120psi is not that bad for one cylinder, just looking any other opinion. I have put fuel injector cleaner and valve ease but the problem still there. Funny thing on some days it drives well, no jerks, bad idle, misfiring and no wanting to switch off at stop/start traffic. The car has 165milege on it. I have attached an image of the report from manufacturer. Any advice would be highly appreciated regards Ayanda
I figured the problem out. It was the throttle motor on my throttle body and my VTTI Solonoid and filter. After I changed that now it's smooth and runs great!
Is there a way to test if the alternator brushes are failing or if the alternator itself needs to be replaced? I know on some early 2000s Toyotas 4 cylinder I replace the alternator brush and it didn't resolve the failed alternator
