I'm Dustin, a tailwheel pilot with a passion for all things aviation! Hang out with me and help spread the greatness of aviation! My goal is to be a person that will draw someone into the field of aviation, and perhaps mentor those coming up. I haven't been a pilot long, as I got started later in life, but that's not going to stop me from enjoying the thing that brings happiness and joy into my life!
I got my private out of Russellville about a year ago. That place is off of 24 not far from Russellville airport. Ive never landed on a grass strip, but its a skill i want to learn.
Yeah man! September 21 we’re flying to Moontown (3M5) for breakfast at 8am, then leaving to KGAD for our 4th annual fly-in that starts at 10. Hopefully we’ll see you, but regardless, find me on social media and stay in touch! Website is www.propflier.com and social links are listed there.
@@PropFlier thanks for the invite! If I wasn't already committed, I'd love to go to GAD. I will be at Byrd's the next week. I'll message you when I'm back down toward KASN.
Dustin, I'm happy to see a new Maule channel popping up. Great work! I love your sleek looking cowling. Who made that? Greetings from a Maule driver from Germany
@@jhaedtler yep! Tucker 48 was way ahead of its time. Unfortunately when Preston Tucker purchase Franklin, or “Aircooled Motors,” he dropped the military contracts which was like 65% of what Franklin made. When the Tucker 48 failed, it hurt Franklin Engines. They’re great engines though! Tight tolerances and it runs so smooth!
Recently moved to AL. Flying out of KALX with a '46 cessna 120. Can't seem to find any turf. Would appreciate any grass strips that would allow someone to land.
@@erikbonneau411 moontown (3M5) is public and a fantastic strip. I’ve got a few but have gotten permission from the owners. I don’t know of many that will allow a ton of traffic, but I’m still keeping my eyes open.
@@erikbonneau411 I’ve got another video about moontown on my channel. They do a good breakfast every month. KGAD is having their annual fly in on September 21 from 10-1. Several of us are flying up to moontown that morning for breakfast, then returning to Gadsden for the fly in. Go to my website and find me on social/send a contact form and we can stay in touch. www.propflier.com
@@WayneMeador private-ish. It’s not listed, but it’s up near AL34. It’s actually only about 1,000 feet. The gas station is two sisters country store. What do you fly?
@@PropFlier OK gotcha. Currently I rent a Grumman cheetah. But eventually want to buy/build or a combination of that a bush plane. Realizing there are so many small private strips that are unlisted. Even in my area where I live down by Falkville.
I was there at Moontown. Saw your Maule and wondered who that was. I have a MX7-180 that I keep at my farm in TN, but there are several other Maule owners around that occasionally fly places in a gaggle. Need to get you plugged in to the group.
Absolutely! We haven't owned it very long, but have definitely made some adventures in her! Having this taildragger has certainly connected us with new people and places to land!
@@Lichlord I’ll keep that in mind! I’m still learning what people want to see. We’ve got the 220hp Franklin, 50hours SMOH, so hopefully nothing but annuals and preventative for a long time. Thanks for subscribing!
Very Cool, I need to get down to MoonTown! I have a MXT7-180, want to start some avionics upgrades soon. Are those Flush-Mounted G5's?? Very sharp looking!
Way to use the Maule! Great video and nice teamwork while flying. When I was in the service I went to school on Governors Island and saw the lady daily. Nice to see the aerial view. Good job guys!
This is so cool! Love the way it's shot...it really does a nice job of making you feel like you're riding along in the aircraft! How does this channel not have more viewers!!?
@@user-pq3v2yw3v ours is a 71 L. She does pretty good. We’re in Alabama. Longest we’ve taken her was Virginia. Just slowly building time and having fun doing it. Hoping when it warms up we’ll be doing more adventures, but this cold is miserable in a 150 that has no interior.
