There is talk of new classes added and hope so because I loved the thief class in the SNES version And do hope that the melee classes get some battle abilities like Warrior Mercurial Thrust or Monk Roundhouse Kick
I loved Dragon Quest III, as well as I & II, but III is where the series truly became epic in every sense of the word. I'm very much looking forward to this game on all three systems.
Until you find the metal slime spawn spot Speaking of which, I really hope Metal King slimes and Platinum Jewels are added for the exp farm Liquid metal slimes just isn't enough
Really like your down to Earth attitude. I started in the late 80s on a Commodore 64. Im 46 now and still love gaming as a past time along with mountain bike riding.
Does anyone here know if DQ III HD-2D will be available on PS4, even if it's digital only? Some sources I've found say yes it will be on PS4, others only list PS5.
A remake should retain as much like the original when come to art direction DQ3 looks good Demon soul remake was disappointed when bluepoint straight up change some of the Character art style which Resident Evil 4 remake don't
I don’t put too much stock on the definition of remakes and remasters because it’s more of a marketing term marketers use in a way that’s inconsistent, to the degree that they’re unwilling to clarify the term that they’ve created causing mass confusion. I see a ton of comments from people attempting to define these two words to the point that it ultimately turns into a semantic argument. Not saying that that’s what you’re doing, but frankly, I see the games as they are an interpretation of what may have come before.
@BacklogBattle that's true this is a pretty subjective topic that is hard to say I'm sure when the remake is enjoyable it's is good 👍 I'm just 2 years younger than you been playing since nes I guess older gamer are more nitpicking in some areas
I'm so glad the game looks so nice and true to DQ. Triangle strategy was one of the ugliest games ive seen in the last few years. Horrible color palette and terrible lighting.
@@BacklogBattle wow, ok. That’s a bit disappointing for me. Anything that reminds me of an FPS I’m turned off by, it’s a weird gripe, but I might have to sit this one out.
Based on the previews, it seems like once you attack the game goes into first person mode? I wonder if this is optional, I know this is how the original game plays, but it doesn't look interesting to me.
The major drawback to this game is that it is way overpriced. It should be about $20 and I think it’s going for about $50, that is definitely going to affect the amount of people that purchased this game. as much as I’m a fan of the original and I do want to buy this game I’m not at that price and I think a lot of people are going to skip it at that price.
This is dragon quest, it deserves the money and respect as any other video game in existence... It has the quality content worth of any AAA game... Please, don't be an imbecile next time you talk about this beautiful series
I’m so in love with this color palette for the HD2D style. That plus the enemy animations that get extra flair from the throwback first person perspective really shows how much flexibility and diversity there is in this style - from Octopath to Star Ocean 2 to now these remakes! Also as a busy JRPG lover, I sincerely appreciate accelerated battle speeds
So excited for the release being this year and that the same treatment is happening to DQ1&2. Plan to buy it on Xbox, Switch and Steam though spread out to support the series. Really hoping that this does well enough that other games in the series could get the same treatment, 4-6 and 9 come to mind w/ DQ9 being more wanted for me since it's stuck on the DS family and needs a modern port.
Cannot wait for all 3 of these games! I suppose I could ask this on your discord but I’m wondering if they changed the beginning of 3 with how you set up your main characters and party members jobs, also I did notice a new job class in the trailer, looked like a monster tamer
I'm very excited about the Dragon Quest III HD-2D remake, the use of vibrant colors from what I've seen in the trailer footage makes it look very appropriate for the series. The feel of Dragon Quest games is like you are going on a big adventure and the visual and audial elements add to that feeling. This really looks like it will take a retro classic and turn it into a modern classic and I hope it brings in a lot of new fans and makes Dragon Quest a bigger phenomenon in the West.
You know my mom was commenting the other day that she and my dad use rent and play this game and DQ 1 and 2 when she was pregnant with me. Explains a lot❤ looking forward to this game
Now I already knew about the fact that you can speed up battles now and all of that but not the fact that we're gonna be getting some new story content, Using zoom in doors doesn't make us hit our heads anymore and In english and Japanese dubs. Those are all really new things that I never really heard most people talk about especially the person when he said he got to go to square and got to try out the beta for this. Though one extra thing I will basically add-on is while the game doesn't give every enemy a health bar, it does do the same thing that dragon quest 11 did which is when you do enough damage to an enemy their name will relate to what color they have like white means full health, yellow means almost there and red means they are about to die. With that in mind I'm just really happy that this is finally gonna be a reality and that the new story content is gonna be overseen by the guy who made the series in the first place so we won't have any weird awkward new scenario that doesn't fit what we already did so great overview into this Alex!
I am so hyped for these three games. Didn’t believe we would get the whole trilogy but I’m so glad we do. This will be awesome and the changes sound quite good. Can’t wait to play it
Interesting you prefer newer modern gen consoles over retro ones as a 45 yesr old. Im the opposite. Newer things like the ps5 suck compared to the older stuff imo.
The issue for me with the first fairy tail game, at least as a fan of the manga. Was them starting in the middle of the overall story. Giving new players no context as to who anyone is, how they know each other, and all the struggles they went through. If they make a 3rd one it HAS to cover the first half of the fairy tail story.
NEW Romancing SaGa II, DQ Trilogy were SIMPLY AMAZING! FANTASTIC! The Darkest Dungeon 2 coming to switch was the cherry on the top! Just loved straight away!!!!
