The ocean has been good to us. We met while surfing, and ever since, we’ve never been far from it - or each other. My name is Denham and I'm from Sydney's northern beaches, Mari is from Rio de Janeiro. Neither of us had any sailing experience until 2017. We did an introductory sailing course and never looked back. We bought a 1988 Northshore 46 called “Latitude”, which we refitted in between our day jobs, slowly getting her ready for the deep blue. In 2019 we had our first big sailing trip departing Sydney to Lord Howe Island then New Caledonia and Vanuatu, returning to Gold Coast about 6 months later. It was amazing and we were left wanting more. In early 2020 with Mari pregnant and an eye in the future we sold Latitude and bought our catamaran which we named Rio. Our goal is to Sail, surf and enjoy the sunshine. Whenever we can, wherever the winds takes us. If two people who have never sailed before can refit a boat and sail an ocean, it should get you thinking…what’s your dream?
I’m now five episodes in one night (of yours) and loving it. Way better than La Vagabond, Delos, et al. I have corked a smile and cracked a boney laugh so many times. Bloody hell. 😂
I mean when they offer free beer and burgers (yes they did) to take an experimental vaccine you should've seen the warning signs. Turbo cancers are next if you survive the first 3 years. Good luck mate.
@@imiloa. we sure did! So epic to watch from the water! And meet some of the pros. Check our Instagram I’ve post some photos on it (Denhamhitchcock) yew!
Any plans on getting a different catamaran in the future and if so, what will it be? I'm planning on building a Cyber 48 sometime in 2025 and can't wait till I get out on the water.
What a machine... I hope you bought shares in the company... Could be adapted to a man over board system too, and a fishing Kontiki... Even the Ukrainians could adapt it for "other"uses...
That is so cool. When I get my boat, I want one. Do you have a web site so that I can check them out? I tried to find something but no luck. How much does it weigh?
@@robertlaird6746 it would be a great addition to boat fun for sure. I think from memory Mark said 14 kg for the boogie and the another 14-15 for battery. Amazing and great skill riding the foiling board and the tow in. We all skurf behind a tinny with a 30 hp, do you think it would be able to pull a 70 to 80 kg person up on a short surfboard? What a life you have, thanks for the video.
Thanks for posting this and sick edit. 🙏 My wife is from São Paulo Brazil in Campinas. Been over 5 years since we visited. Cloudbreak is my favorite wave on tour! 🤙🤙
