Young folks forget that most of these characters and publishers first appearance on a home console was the 8 bit Nintendo. Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, Mega Man, Samus, Snake, Pac man, Ryu, Ken, Kid Icarus, Ness, Duck Hunt, R.O.B., Ice Climbers, Punch out, and Simon all started on Nintendo. Don't forget, Squaresoft, Konami, Capcom, and Hal Laboratories made a bunch of games for Nintendo and Super Nintendo. Pokemon and Kirby were big on Game Boy back in the day. In a way, Smash Bros is like a love letter to gamers who grew up on playing on all if these games. OG Smash, Brawl, 3DS, and Melee are still worth a lot of money to this day.
Dude, I just wanna say that this was a great series. NSMB was the first game I’ve ever owned, and the first game I’ve ever finished. It’s my definition of nostalgia and I always go back to it whenever I feel down bc it reminds me of my childhood. Around the time this video was uploaded, life really sucked for a while, and your video helped me feel better, as well as your vids on the other worlds. Please finish with World 7 and World 8. You’re really good at what you do, bro!
I'd like to note that it's possible that Marty is still green, and that the yellow lighting was just a good way to save on cartridge space so they don’t have to make all new textures. For one specific character model.
This stream VOD was entertaining as always. Btw while cold water is refreshing no doubt, I do try to drink room temp water as much as I can after I eat. Your body needs to warm up the water as fast as it can to help you digest- the idea of me cooling the food in my stomach and solidifying it more makes me cringe lol. This is particularly why at Chinese Restaurants; they offer hot tea most of the time instead of water with ice.
this video keeps coming up on autoplay while im trying to sleep so multiple times I have woken up to the dulcet tones of 🎺🎺🎺🎺🎺MMMMAAAAAARIO PAARTY 10/10, love the vid
I will be fair and say most of my hate for this level comes from the absolute monstrosity that is Crazy Gadget's hard mode which has Artificial Chaos, an extremely annoying enemy everywhere and the spring at the end of the stage which just kills you if you try to use it to go back to the start of the maze on the chance you missed the switch for the rocket. For me though the biggest issues with this stage is how it brings out all the rough edges of sonic's gameplay with both the stage design and the awful gravity gimmick. The gravity switches already cause a lot of stop and go which is not a good set up for sonic gameplay almost ever, but actually playing in the switched gravity feels awkward and just not fun. Moreover it forces you to contend with every issue with Sonic's gameplay. The impreciseness of the Homing Attack, the control bloat with multiple actions being placed on the same button, and the fact that in any situation that isn't basic flat ground, it is not unlikely that when you try to jump, Sonic will do a jump dash instead of just jumping. Normally that only happens on Grind Rails, which is annoying but it happens everywhere in the reversed gravity segments which, killed my A Rank runs, so, many times. On paper it might be a well designed level but for me, especially trying to A Rank it, it was absolutely atrocious, far more than any level before or after it, even Mad Space was more tolerable than this for me.
Oooh, I watched this 4 years ago on a different account! Really happy you made this a series, I needed more long form content to save me from short form brain rot. ❤
Truly, SA2 finds us with an Eggman at his most efficient, most brutal and merciless. It's not even fair to call him Eggman in this game. He truly is the Doctor. The Robotnik family are no joke in this universe. Love this game lol
So, concerning generation names etymology: Silent Generation: Named so for a lack of political activism following the World Wars. Baby Boomers: The most well-known, as this was a great population increase. Generation X: Actually named so for a similar reason to the Silent Generation, in that they were characterized by the previous generation as being unconcerned with societal pressures. They X'ed out the "rules" the Boomers set. Generation Y / Millenials: Set to follow the trend set by Gen X, but the Millenial name is more widely used. Generation Z / Zoomers: Continuing the trend, but now that Boomers are dragging so much down by refusing to pass power down, their in our head so we combined the Z with Boomer. Though the two generations couldn't be more different. Gen Alpha: Guess we're restarting with the greek alphabet, but also the first generation to be entirely within the new century and millennium.
I like how this game confirms that the bananas on Donkey Kong Island have star power in them, which serves as a reason why villains in the Donkey Kong games try to steal them
