I am a writer and educator in cosmetic laser and laser safety. FINALLY, a physician who goes into the science of CO2 laser resurfacing! Thank you Dr. Ranghetti! Impressive.
My practitioner thought I was a Fitzpatrick 4 but my skin reacts mildly even with very higher fluence (settings at 18J/cm2 and 18mm spot) just slight redness and perifollicular edema that’s transient and disappears a few hours later…so despite appearances, I’m treated as a 3 on Alexandrite laser. It just goes to show test spots are crucial!!! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
What about treating the ones that come in oxidised. I have 2 ladies that I have done with the same wavelength and HP. Still a tint of red on them after 2 sessions. How can I help my patient?
We just invested in a cool peel machine. We didn’t get the cooling machine. Do you have suggestions on things we could do or buy incase a client asks for the cooling feature? Thank you in advance this information was so helpful
Thank You...Very informational... Bc it is a procedure done to the face my only concern would be that something would go wrong ... For example the skin not responding well to treatment and creating some kind of permanent damage... Are there any risks associated with this procedure that may not be reversible?!
