My garden keeps me busy. Due to my climate, my spring garden schedule may be enough ahead of yours (Zone 9B) that you could get some garden inspiration in time to implement in your area.
Plans for the channel include all the fun things homesteaders do. Growing some of my own food in the raised bed garden, keeping backyard chickens, homemade bread baking, cheese making, and more. I look forward to sharing these activities with you.

What kind of grapefruit are you growing, Larry? We had a pink grapefruit tree in south Florida when I was a teenager, they were so amazing when eaten right off the tree.
Larry, you're the person who inspired me to plant a banana tree from my home state here in south TX. I work here full time and am lucky enough to be able to garden, not that I have a ton of luck. I'm following your lead, though, and will be doing some planting for the cooler weather this year. Be well, Larry.

Greetings, Do you also experience frost, ice rain/snow and how do you protect them if that's the case. Was considering planting it in a pot, but not sure if that was a good idea. Would appreciate your inputs please. We live in Austin.
I usually get a few nights of below freezing temps each year. If I have a bunch of bananas on the tree I wrap them with a sleeping bag. The trees are too big to cover and all the leaves will die. The trees will put out new pups from the roots for next year. My ground does not freeze. 🤠
