I like the stabilisation on the native app (Final Cut Camera), so, I'd use 4K HDR for daily stuff. For something worthwhile, I'd opt for BlackMagic Cam, HEVC + Apple Log. For something important, I'll put the phone down and get my a7 IV.
yes absolutely but I also feel like it is the best sound no? so flexibility and also great sound no matter how far away from the camera. I blacked out my dji mic 2 logo because I did not like it sticking out
yes, and also 32 bit float. I'm not sure what is the difference without 32 bit float but I do like the result. I'm not good at editing the dji mic 2 sound, i'm looking for the simplest option out there. just to shoot more videos lightweight setup
yeah, movement and in general small details like hair and such, really confuse cinematic mode. I would still use normal 4kHDR and lose the artificial blur
The one I will use the most: 4k 60fps Best quality: ProRes Log. I will probably not use cinematic mode at all. #buildInPublic Took me ab 1 day to shoot and 1.5 days to edit. Still not at the speed I want, I am still too slow in editing. Almost missed the deadline this week because of work and a bit of traveling. Need to be better at time management.
#buildInPublic & ProRes choices 👇👇👇 *Time invested in this video* Shooting: roughly half a working day (3-5 hours) - 👍 Edit time per minute of video: roughly 2 hours - 🤦♂ Time from shoot to uploaded video: 4-5 days - 😒 Conclusion after video: I need to edit better & faster. *My ProRes choices* Most popular choice: 4k HDR - Native camera if I shoot my vlog or vacation if I shoot something important and I have more time to color grade (events or products): 4k 24 ProRes Log on Native Camera Less impact on storage & setup: ProRes 1080p Native Camera or ProRes 422 LT BlackMagic is just right
My question is steady or rocksteady? And setup to instagram tiktok? 4k and export 1080? I think in day not problem with rocksteady but in the night? Is best steady?
I only use rock steady and when i walk even horizon ballancing. For any video on social media i would film 4k and export in 1080p (so you avoid instagram compression doing another resize). I always shoot in rocksteady if daylight outsside. In low light unfortunately all digital stabilisation just cracks up so it is recommended steady or none and maybe stabilise after. Action2 Camera is not made to work well in low light
hey man! It depends a lot on what you edit. Desktop/pc/mac or ipad etc. I have an apple workflow and still i would probably shoot 5.3k 60fps (even thought it is harder to edit). But if you have a long vacation 4k60fps is great and has amazing stabilisation on the 11.
Yup, will do in the gopro 11 one dropping soon. If you want a quick comparison of super vs wide vs linear vs narrow for gopro we did a short one when we compare it to the dji action. (It is not as thorough as this one but gives you an idea) Ps: i only shoot linear with gopro myself m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0FYTWkm1YNg.html
Hey, first question is what do you edit on? Adobe / final cut pro/ Luma fusion or whatever? Trick is to turn a 120 shot in a 24 fps shot but it is different for each software you edit with
I am testing it now, will have a video up soon. But first question is what will you use it for? Thing is, if the price difference is right, I don't see why you would pay more for the 11. The 10 has absolutely been better than most of the competition see comparison here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jCGJ9q4LqLU.html Now the shooting styles between 10 and 11. Will check out but unless you do FPV with reelsteady I'm not sure.
yes, pro mode. so basically it had a light log applied when we talked picture quality and none or very very light saturation when it was put in the stabilization tests and slowmo
5k is so useful when it comes to reframing content after you have shot it. it is very good for this but it brings some problems along 1) editing (5.3k 60fps is quite a big boy) 2) storage (quickly fills up) 3) battery (overheats and battery drains faster) But I mostly choose 5.3k also myself. You have a gopro?
I'm going with go pro. The action 2 resolution at 4k was worse than the 1080p resolution on both my other cameras. I thought I could correct it but got tired of it and just tossed it in the trash. It also has jitteryness that can be annoying. Can be fixed raising the shutter speed but I don't want to raise my shutter just to fix the jitter.
are you sure you did not have the zoom turned on? This is what happened to me. zoom turned on looks like trash on action 2. Yes Gopro is more versatile and better quality. what do you mean by jitteryness? - when you walk and it tries to stabilise?
This is actually a great review. I fall for 4K 60fps. So, I have to make an additional "experiment" to convince myself. GoPro 10 - sharpness medium 4K60 vs 5.3K60 Indeed 4K was sharper than that of 5.3K .... but .... using Davinci, I managed to sharpen 5.3K to achieve almost similar sharpness to that of 4K. Indeed extra work is required here, but for certain clips (or for most of it), I would stick to 5.3K (or 5K on GP9).
Yup, I think it's a balance on how much you work on them. I agree with you. TBH I kind of chose in what I shoot (5.3k vs 4k) based on what I will shoot and my intention to actually edit it afterwards. How does DaVinci scrub through the 5.3k does it breath heavily or just keeps the butter smoothness? (I don't mean export I mean actual edit time while you are editing the footage)
@@VictorReviewsGarage I do the same as well, but try to shoot most of my clips in 5.3K60, except for when recording indoors with less light, I'll do 5.3K30. During bad lighting, I would go down to 4K60 or even 4K30. I am on Macbook Pro 15" with an Intel processor (GPU is Radeon Pro). My workflow is by importing/exporting from/to an external SSD. A 1.5 mins clip took around 4 minutes to complete (single clip, sharpened), original in 5.3K30 exported as 4K30. If you mean that "during" editing, then I would say it was butter smooth, with no hiccup during slicing-deleting or when moving your cursor on the timeline. I think the choice for 4K60 over 5.3K60 for those who argued that 4K looks sharper should be tied to "sharp for those who prefer not to do post-processing".
Hello, I watched your every video on DJI action 2 and purchased to shoot my vlogs. It's just awesome. Please continue to post more videos. From india with love ❤️
hey man! lovely! thank you for the kind words, encouragements, really do help :D I hope you enjoy your Action 2. how does it handle indian climate temperatures?
Tbh i kind of agree with you when it comes to choosing. I have used 5k 60 this summer it has been a drag to edit. 4k60 looks just fine and is very smooth on any machine
Yup, for sure! I don’t think it’s night and day difference but if i had to choose just based on stabilization or quality probably gopro on top. Which one did you buy?
Hi Victor Action 2 is now like 280 dollars on power. Combo offer. Is it worth it, or not as the image is too wide? Doesn't the horizontal steady crop in , making more narrow fov? Cheers 👍
wow, that is some good price. So between action 2 and gopro 10 I would choose the action 2 at this price and buy accessories for the rest. Horizon Balancing crop does make it less wide. See my test here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fNwYAV9K99o.html (somewhere from 2min i compare all shooting formats & resolutions) It does make it less wide, this is how I would probably shoot.
gracias brochacho. It's simpler to be creative with a small camera like dji action 2 or the gopro 10 :D and footage in 120fps always looks good. not fully sure about my color grading just yet but working on it
I got the Action 2 on the Amazon super-sale a few weeks ago. I agree the digital zoom is totally useless and I will never use that again. The footage when I got home made me initially think I smudged the lens, but further testing proved it just is workless. Otherwise, I like the small size and wearability of the Action 2
yeah, that zoom :( I can only imagine buying the camera at an airport and filming your vacation with zoom on because it looked ok on the screen. wearability is for sure the power here. It is also very non-threatening. people don't get upset when they see it. Also wearing it around your neck not bouncing so much, that is great for action stuff.
@@spirittravels. I think the camera shoots ok footage. Now is it better than gopro 10? Probably not, but because it is small and easy to use you might accept that over buying a gopro. here is a quality test just of the Action 2 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fNwYAV9K99o.html
@@spirittravels. question is what do you plan on doing with it. Like the insta360 Go2 it has its place. Say you want first person and stick it to your chest etc. WAAAAAAAY more fun than a GoPro 10 :)
so so, i can edit 5k 30 ok, the scrubbing starts breathing heavily for 4k120fps to 5k60fps. I would not say it is unworkable or something just drops some frames. also D-Cinelike does not influence how workable the file is
We will compare the Insta360 Go2 with the GoPro10 and DJI Action 2 soon. Subscribe to not miss, it is a 👹MOSTER👹 test! All in the playlist here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q_U7sW7o0yI.html
