Heh, yeah...I remember hearing an interview with Katz from a few years ago (2015, I want to say?) on one of the MLW podcasts. He briefly mentioned WRP and made some vague excuse like "I was in a pretty bad place in my life" and then talked about how the show was going to be on iTunes or something, and then it wasn't going to be on iTunes, and the hosts never followed up with any more questions. No way in hell that this now 8+ year old footage will ever see the light of day beyond what little has turned up on youtube (the trailer, Joey Ryan's coming out promo, etc).
I was in the crowd for this. Jeff Katz underestimated how much it would cost to edit/sell and kept the rest of the money to cover his costs. here's all the details about the show. I was 1 of about 20 actual wrestling fans out of about 50 people in the crowd. The rest were paid actors. It was different what they were shooting. Controversial story lines. At one point the chandelier above the ring got smashed by total accident. Wrestlers had new gimmicks. Chris Masters was Concrete. More brutal. was cool. Dreamer & Daniels would come out during matches and advise wrestlers to re-shoot spots or promos to make them better. This was filmed like a sitcom sometimes to get it right. Less emphasis on the live crowd. More about cool camera angles and mood lighting. We were sat around round tables fancy dinner style on a stage behind the ring the same height as the wrestlers. Was fucking weird. We were told to fake react to a big controversial reveal promo. Play it up. Act shocked. That was gay as fuck.... and that's a hint about the promo subject. Any more questions just ask.
+HIPSTER ISAAC the final storyline of the 'season' (all filmed over 3-4 days) built up to Joey Ryan's character being called a "f*ggot" in a in-ring promo. then joey Ryan comes out & reveals he's gay. he had a valet with him before that. Jeff Katz pulled all the wrestling fans from the crowd, told us it was going to happen and to "react loudly with shock". to make it seem like a big deal. I guess Katz was going for a controversial storyline. it was filmed for tv cameras, less about the crowd. they darkly lit the warehouse & only had fans on the camera side. all the top wrestlers were agents. Christopher Daniels, Chris hero & Adam pierce. you could see them watching poking their heads out the entrance curtains. it was low budget and they were trying to film as many matches as possible. like a whole season. all new characters / gimmicks for guys so it was hard to get pumped for each wrestler. especially sitting with paid extras
What a work. It says "2012" in this trailer, but here we are and it's December 7th and no product has been released to the wrestling fans who gave this guy $100,000 to produce this series. The selling point of his Kickstarter video was how simple it would be to book a wrestling show with a beginning, middle, and end and use logical storytelling to do a 13 episode season. Then he doesn't even put the effort necessary into it to release it after spending over a year supposedly working on it.
Maybe Katz should spend a bit of the $100,000 wrestling fans gave him and pay someone to edit it for him if he's too busy with other things to finish it himself. Until he does that, he has ripped off the wrestling fans by not delivering a product.
Remember when Jeff Katz scammed $100,000 out of wrestling fans a year and a half ago, and then never released the promised series? I'm surprised more of the wrestling community isn't coming down on this guy for it.
apparently Katz is doing all the editing himself. Dunno how many hours he has to sift through but that is quite a bit all by himself. Plus its going to seem inconsistent as he can't easily add more stuff in as some of the talent now are harder to get to with their current work location. But regardless I hope it does pan out and he made good on his kickstarter promises.
The more wrestling companies the better. Yet the social wrestling media better support this! Sick of the narrow tna and wwe wrestling media support. Years ago before the social internet media. Wrestling was read in magazines when pwi was not biased to support two companies. If this kind of wrestling support of today was like the yester years. Then Abdullah the Butcher. Bruiser Brody. Jerry Lawler etc etc would of never been known. Wwe makes money off of dead companies. Do not take their views
@letussmokeabowwl please don't post false information, there are folks worried about friends and family and there have been no reports of 16 fatalities....
Omg I don't mean this meanly but who would like this my friends dad was sick to night god bless him but his buddy roach is missing :'( I pray he is alive
true that. Advancements in tech and media are fast and Vince isn't getting any younger to catch up. It took him 8 months to finally realize Ryder's shtick with social media. Pro wrestling isn't just limited to Vince or Jarrett/Dixie carter's ideas from their yes men. There are some concept shows creeping up that may integrate pro wrestling into media as a whole. And with streaming being viable, even smaller prominent promotions are making that jump.
So very excited for this. Amazing trailer, and no dub step in it is nice to see for a change! Chikara and WWE both used dub step to promote something recently...
Okay I work in the television industry and you have no idea what you're talking about. First of all you haven't heard a single snippet of the sound yet so I have no idea how you can assert that the sound quality is poor. Secondly, you don't refer to video quality as "graphics" and speaking of video quality from the little I've seen it looks great.
