Not often you see Tom Bihn bags in Australia, but they do sometimes pop up for sale second hand. I got a Synik 22 for around $400 and never looked back. I’m keen to try a 30L but I have a small frame so I don’t think it would fit as well.
For your packing demo i would like to see both bags packed out. I do not own either a tom bihn bag or an able carry bag so that would be very helpful to me. I had heard that the original owners had sold out and so was waiting to hear that tom bihn had gone down hill but that doe snot seem to be the case so far.
Yess I'll be packing them fully loaded for a 2 week trip. The Tom Bihn feels very well made and is very comfortable, the Able carry is also very comfortable and well made, I'll be an interesting comparison
Just received my PGYTech Mini in green today in the mail. I'm finiding all my little trinkets to stuff it with. I am floored. Your review helped make the decision an easy one. Thank you @Packing Less
I bought one just got delivered yesterday in black color. I was surprised that the 20 l is that bigger than my 14 l backpack. It is well made, it has no admin pocket, the inside material is white so I'll be careful about stains, has air vents for the back and i like the hard plastic support at the back. It is pretty well made.
I have to say, I'm a big fan of Cordura. If they could do a Ripstop body with a Cordura bottom, I would buy it in a minute. The great advantage of Cordura is it's wear resistance. For the bottom of the pack that really useful.
Technically the ripstop is also cordura just a lower denier but I know what you mean. I'm planning to wear it and use it fairly extensively to see how it holds up
Which would be a good pairing? I'd like to get the mini and another but I'm stuck between the small or medium. Not sure which would be best for versatility.
Nice fabric, stylish sleeves but that hood though is a complete fail IMHO. It's a poor design that's just uncomfortable and weird looking. Western Rise would have been better off using the same pattern as the Airloft which as a great hood. I have no idea what they were going for with this hood design. It looks like wearing a nappy on your head or one of those thin zip-away hoods that go back into the collar. While the pocket in the back is nice for stashing stuff, the whole bag idea is unnecessary given that the target community, I'd wager, would already carry a sling. Also, you feel it as you walk around.
Im torn between zip pouch pro and zip cardholder. What i like about the zip cardholder is the bigger dimension in the back external slot. Question is, can it fit a chunky edc gear on it like leatherman skeletool or swiss army? Cuz based on the alpaka description of the zip carholder the back external slot can fit 2 cards only (max). Can you help me out guys. Thank you
Picked up the SLR Magic 8mm a week and a half ago. Maybe I got a bad one, but it was terrible. Very soft, no matter the f-stop. Sent it back. Did SLR Magic send you the sample or did you purchase from a retailer?
I got mine today and holding down the rear switch from off does not go into moonlight mode. It just turns on the spotlight and cycles through the different brightness levels as if I did one click and then held the rear button.
@@PackingLess Thank you for letting me know. I never use moonlight mode so it's not a big deal. I did notice lazy programming in the water droplet mode. It will show 4 or 5 droplets of the same color before transitioning to the next color except for red, green, and blue. It just shows one drop of those. Most notable with red. I have a Sofirn flashlight that does the same thing so looks like one lazy programmer did it. These flashlights are probably all made in one factory for the different companies.
@@PackingLess It appears I have made an ass out of myself. When holding the switch down it does come on in moonlight mode at which point I am supposed to let go of the switch. If I don't it cycles through moonlight, low, medium, and high. I assumed moonlight mode was a momentary mode that required holding the switch as long as you want moonlight mode on. When I do the normal one click and then hold the switch down it only cycles through low, medium, and high.
Has anyone experienced running commute with laptop in these bag? Will it be wobbly or discomfort? Thanks in advance and also thanks for the great content ❤️
I have some non-sponsored content on the way, I haven't had a lot of free time to record / edit it lately. But I am sincerely sorry, I hope you'll still be here to enjoy the upcoming videos
You could use the led strip in red flashing more as a bike light, the laser pointer for presentations or playing with cats, the flashlight for regular flashlight things
Wondering: 1. Which size laptop can fit the water bladder pouch/ or generally in the bag? 2.If there are packable light backpacks that do block rain for longer time.... [the Osprey ones might do, but they seem like a big nylon bag, zero cushioning to support what you store inside]
I'm not sure maybe 12/13" laptop but I didnt try to confirm. While neither bag is waterproof they are very lightly mildly water resistant just not for heavy constant rainfall
Really good comparison video, because I live in the UK im just wondering are either them waterproof if not are they good for not letting water in? Thanks
