I have a very rough SA dagger that's been denazified. It's not worth keeping untouched as the value is really low so planning to replace the eagle. I know how to disassemble, but how to do you replace the eagle?
I have one pretty much identical to this in my collection and it also has the gold wash. I know generals daggers are a bit of a touchy subject but these daggers are definitely gold and not silver. I can't see why they would gold wash a regular army dagger if it weren't for a general. Beautiful dagger either way 👍
I would say leave the chrome in my opinion. The chrome finish on it looks sick! It’s all about wish one you prefer as aesthetically. Either way, blued or chrome the Walther P.38 still comes out on top. I have one as well, “ac 44” marked.
Thank you so much for this video. We had 4 daggers, including an SS, donated to our Holocaust museum, however I am skeptical of their authenticity. Do you have a website or email that we could send photos to you and you could help authenticate? Thank you.
Great video and thanks for sharing. I've just bought a very rough SA dagger (I'm a helmet collector but starting to get into daggers) that's been denazified. It's not ever going to be worth much but will have a go at replacing the eagle and it'll still be good for display!
Nazi are so low rent. The universal bad guy. Nobody had better-looking uniforms but without heart or soul. Godless! They thought they were god themselves.
I am a bit confused was the sa still a thing in 1938 ? I thought after the night of the long knives 1934 they where pretty much done and the ss took over much of their role
@@MrdaggerbeastNJ kk i was not aware of that, interesting factoid. THank you very much. So I am assuming then that the later daggers are worth more since there was way fewer of them with the sa being so much smaller.
These prices are not real. You will never buy a decent third Reich dagger for under £2500 in the United Kingdom or its equivalent in the United States or Europe. Third Reich regalia is now more rare than it has ever been and people do not want to part with it unless you’re offering a Kings ransom! If anyone here believes they can pick up an SA, SS, NSKK or even a Hitter Youth dagger for under £2,500 you’re looking at buying a complete fake or a Frankenstein at best? There are so many deluded people here in the comment section.😢
Custer was a dumba$$ and a war criminal. I've been to LBH as well. My ggg-grandfather was a CSA general, led the Texas brigade, wounded 6/2/63 @ devils den, losing the use of his arm, he was then wounded 9/20/63 losing his leg and then went on to command the Army of Tn from 64/65, evacuating Atlanta and led the disasters of Franklin and Nashville.
@@dezionlion grip is text book Eickhorn. Guards are Boker. Everything else is open for debate. P Tang markings attributed to Krebs. But not a known maker of SS Daggers. More research required imo.
Nothing wrong with this dagger only the condition of the handle around the eagle and also the guard. I like my daggers more mint but it obviously depends on how much you’re selling it for? If it was me, I’d probably pay just under £900 (uk pounds) for this stagger. You have to remember most collectors want choice relics (maker marked and maybe a little history) and are prepared to pay for this piece of mind. There is no makers mark even if you have got marks on the tang you have no providence with it? Many people would not buy this dagger from you purely on the fact that it’s a Frankenstein.
I have a F. Dick from Esslingen no RZM no flaws. My grandpa brought it back. Painted scabbard. Missing the leather strap. It seems with so many made these things are a dime a dozen so to speak. But it's definitely the coolest thing I own.
I am german, Brittas boyfriend, born 1965. Such knives had been sold as , Fahrtenmesser ' in 1970s/ 1980s, came out of populariy during 1980s. In some long exising knife/ cutlery shops you can perhaps still find ones, if you ask the personal. In german we call an item, being unsold in a shop for many years a , Ladenhüter '- literally shopguard.
I personally have never came across a fake yet that was not immediately identifiable after having a few genuine ones (SA Daggers and Naval daggers, the others I couldn't say). I am sure there are some great fakes out there but thankfully I haven't ran across them yet. Great video!
Hi, could I email you pics of my dagger to get your thoughts? Handed down from my grandpa who brought it back. I don't see an email address in the bio. It's not for sale a or anything, just always looking for info to attach to it. Thanks.
Nice that you show what is sold on the market, see the SA dagger, assembled parts, someone has turned their old stock of spare parts into money ;), to some extent, the potential buyers themselves are also to blame for the many fakes and assembled specimens .......... something that is always supposed to be cheap, ............... beginners should buy from reputable suppliers, not on the Internet, from unknown ones, and rely on the “great” description
Good video, thank you for that finally something that corresponds to reality, there are plenty of such "construction sites" and they are offered as 100% original........ new collectors should pay attention to these key data
As a german person a question: Why do you call knifes and bayonnets daggers? In german we make a difference between Messer ( knife) and Dolch ( dagger). Those Hitlerjugend knifes had been produced and sold as , Fahrtenmesser ' until 1980s ( in old shops of knifes/ scissors or weapons, existing for decades, you can may be still find them as Ladenhüter - literally shop guards, but meaning items, nobody wants to buy- even today). Also in some , collectors ' Channels some german , hewing knives ' are called daggers, german Hauer seems to be unknown. Large german hunting knives are called , forrestry dagger', ,forrestry cutlass', why not using correct german term , Hirschfänger '?
So in the US vernacular most people when searching RU-vid videos will not search “correct” terminology so easier to find my videos in a search, however you are corrrect.
@@MrdaggerbeastNJ : Understandable. I am Brittas boyfriend, light autism, german and was for twenty years quality control man of a small metal company. So you may understand me. Here in Germany most persons are not intressted in weapons of all kinds. So you as US (?) citizen would not believe, which nonsens you can read and hear in german newspapers, TV News, papers or speeches of politicians/ NGO members, german TV crimeshows ( KRIMINALSERIEN)!
Hello again, can you advise your email address again so I can forward to you pictures of my SA Dagger which has no maker mark nor RZM mark for your feedback. Thank you in advance. Best regards.
