Seems reasonable to me - same subscription fee as WoW or FF14 except they aren't charging a box price and also wont have a cash shop/microtransactions that you're pressured into using to be relevant like other games. I understand if you can't do $15 a month, but I don't think it's fair to call it a rip off.
There are a few different server types planned with different rulesets and some of those will include a play nice policy that's actively enforced by in-game GMs.
my biggest fear for this game is falling for the same problems MMOs historically have faced: what to do for new players when everyone is max level its something thats inevitable, but they seem very resistant to the idea of doing anything to alleviate it in the future and that has me greatly concerned. I don't want it to fall down the same rabbitholes that other older mmos have done
That's a fair concern and makes a lot of sense. You can always swing by one of the live streams and ask the devs directly. They take questions like that all the time😅
I would give anything for this game to be successful both as an experience and product. If this could carve out a sizeable niche for old school mmos and inspire a shift in game design down the road then its worth playing.
I’d play this for sure. I wonder if they’re going to run into copyright issues with anything. For instance, the tree city. I really hope they don’t. I’d really like to see this make it to market.
That question has been asked before on stream and all I know is they have a lawyer and feel good about the choices they are making. I don't inside info to answer beyond that😅 There's a play test next month if you want to try for free though!
Been long time Pantheon believer, but after i saw MnM and what they did, the feel i got from playing test 2 times. It just blew Pantheon away for me. This felt way more like oldschool EQ. And i found my love for a game again. Lets hope they do not fock it up.
Just wanted to drop some positivity and thank you for this video again. As a super fan of Monsters & Memories (like you) this video is exactly what I needed. I hope more people who have never heard of M&M find this video as you did an amazing job of depicting everything that it is and what it wants to become. I've been scratching my head for weeks wanting to make a video like this and I'm so glad you did because I could have never compiled the clips, information, and narration at this level of quality. I simply don't have the skills yet to produce something like this and I'm glad someone else did!
