I done this job for 32+ years, first 12 for the RAF, the rest on commercial, business, VIP and VVIP jets. I wouldn't spray polyurethane paints with an air fed half mask at all, you eyes are great organs for absorbing what's in the air, isocyanates, volatile organic compounds, to mention just a couple there. It specifically states on the technical data sheet, TDS, that appliers of polyurethane paints MUST wear a FULL Face airfed mask.
I know that I've commented on this video before but it warms my heart every time I see it. I grew up in the 60's and 70's in first ward and have so many good memories about the race, the parades and building the floats. I now live in NC and have had the opportunity to travel around the world. NOTHING compares to Wellsburg. My dream to to move back and invest 100 million+ (if I win the lotto) into the local economy and submit a revitalization plan to the city and get thing rolling again. You will always be home Wellsburg!
I think you should of had someone telling what was going on who the kids were ect.. I grew up in wellsburg a im glad things are coming back our children need this alone with some of the parents lol...
While watching the video, I noticed that some of the footage was taken from the balcony of the house that we now own...and it is amazing to see how much has changed (as well as what remains the same). Thank you for sharing...
Wow, that looks like fun! Do they still hold the 'Oil can derby' there in Wellsburg, WV? I know it resembles soap box derby's of today that I assume are still popular in area's like Ohio, but this video shows the way it should still be done. Without the heavy rules and regulations, sponsors, and the like. Just kids and the community having fun. I can picture the kids building their racers in garages and back yards for weeks before the big day!
