We are just average folks who are passionate about the outdoors. Come along on our family's adventures as we try to create a sustainable future for our family while creating the most memorable experiences possible.
Why not trim their wing flight feathers and they won’t be able to get up on the neighbors roof and they can still free range most of the day just asking
All these trolls with the negative comments should criticize their parents for birthing them. Outstanding job on you for getting her outdoors. Great job on her for the deer. My daughter started hunting with me at 4 years old, 18 years later she still ask me to go with her. You are making memories that will last a lifetime, enjoy every second of them.
100% agree. I have thick skin, folks can say what they want to. me and my family enjoy our time together outdoors and they are improving their skills every year. My daughter completely unassisted this year shot deer out to about 150 yards, so she is improving in proficiency a lot of which I attribute to confidence. She has also chosen to pass on some shots because she wasnt comfortable. maturity comes with time and experience.
Sorry, been out of town and out of cell service… yes we are still using it. The blind has faded a good bit but it is still holding up. I have two of them now and have enjoyed them, but they definitely fade more than I had hoped.
You guys need to understand theres only one way to learn. You seriously need to congratulate her for even hunting most kids nowadays wouldnt even attempt it. Nobody is perfect or even good at first. They recovered the kill. Id hate to have any of you as a teacher. Theres only progress from here from her unless your remarks discourage her from continuing.
Thank you Micheal! 100% agree. By way of an update, she shot an 8 point last week all by herself. No parental assistance aiming or otherwise. Confidence to young hunters goes a long long way.
@theaveragearcher8074 Tell her Amazing Job!! For me. You must be very proud! And I personally thank you for what you're doing! Providing ethical meat for the family is the oldest and most honorable thing a person can do. Better than buying factory farmed protein or going vegan blah blah blah lol. Not to press my beliefs onto you, you're already doing amazing as it is. But I also really like to teach young hunters to thank the animal for its sacrifice and bless its passing. If that aligns with your beliefs. Just had to say it lol.
It's amazing the lack of compassion for a kid shooting. Regardless of what you think they recovered the deer and it was a special moment for him and his child. Some of you need a chill pill!
No they can't, a mechanical would bounce back out on a shoulder shot, the blades break, less penetration. Fixed blades can just be sharpened back after a kill, they are far superior to a mechanical in ALMOST every aspect
Not true, I wish it was true but it’s not unfortunately. Of course you can pass through with a mechanical but it just doesn’t happen as much and there’s more risk for deflection.
To clarify what I mean, aiming a rifle affixed to a tripod through a smartphone for the kid to slap the trigger, is lame. Nothing of fundamentals is on display here at all. Nothing of firearms safety. And nothing of ethics.
@theaveragearcher8074 not to each his own. Teach your kids basic fire arm safety and get a better scope so you don't have to hold a tripod to try and keep their shot steady. If you want your kids/girlfriend to learn teach them right. This is not real hunting.
@@pinegoon The place to be a rang snob is the range. The deer is also in the freezer, I guess thats fake hunting. If it weren't for gun safety and fake hunting, we would have died off long ago.
@blacktoastmcbiscut8650 You're right, and I don't mean to be a snob. Good habits are built through good practice, I guess that was my point. I didn't say anything about fake hunting.
Happy to post some videos of what we did with the meat as well as the hide. There were a lot of people who were able to work as a result of our safari. May be a day or two but I will pull some video together.
Steven, it is more complicated than just trophy hunting. No parts of this animal went to waste and we were able to feed a LOT of people with the meat from this harvest. It also provided wages, work opportunities and general support for the local economy. We don't do any 'trophy hunting' just for the sport of it. Nor do any of the other hunters we know. Hopefully that makes sense.
I reallly appreciate this video but i wish more people would teach their children discipline and proper use and control of a fire not just hold it for them and let them jerk the trigger . Video shows me you have failed as an instructor to your child ..
@@KSN2019yeah I'm surprised he didn't miss. I've jerked the trigger on my .50 hawken on several massive bucks because I was too excited. Take your time and hold your breath. It really counts.
