As much as I love Tony Williams, Buddy Rich, Elvin etc, there something so musical and approachable about Joe Morello’s drumming. For me, as a student of jazz drumming this is the starting point as it is easy to understand the basics. However what JM also shows us is incredible flow and musicality - something that takes a lot more work to nail down.

That left hand of his is like a machine gun. Extraordinary.

joe morello is incredible but, paul didnt like him and said dave had to get a new drummer and dave said he wouldnt, besides that joe’s kick drum is insane

Vangelis sound track on a Carl Sagan series? A collaboration of the millennium. Two greats. Vangelis’ music and Carl Sagans books and Cosmos still give me the chills. What a time it must have been to witness this masterpiece of a series on National TV in the 80’s. Just wow!
