I really enjoyed this video. 👍 The in-car live commentary is better, but this is a close 2nd. It was also nice to see a practice session and the racing driver process of learning the grip levels around the race track. 👌There was some fantastic demonstrations of car control as you were full on sideways on a couple of occasions. 😱😁 - Scott
Another great watch Dave! I'm excited to see the racing at Oulton Park! It might be worth checking out the footage during Qualifying. I don't know if you noticed, that one of those moments you pulled a mega save after a slide, the Track Marshalls were clapping you on... You made their day 😂.
Haha I did bud. Slide was during practice and gave the Marshall a thumbs up. It wasn’t the only slide of the session, i can tell you that haha. Will be an interesting watch for sure
Was anything done about the fact the guy that hit you,did so under a yellow flag? Stuff like that is exactly, why,I gave up racing. He was never stopping anyway.
Another great video Dave. 👌 I think I enjoyed this more because after watching the live stream, I know what's coming in your next 2 uploads from Oulton. 😂 It's fascinating to see from an onboard perspective how meticulous you have to be when racing. Off the racing line by a quarter to half a car width and you've lost 2 or 3 car lengths! I know this isn't to do with this video, but did you hear anything in the Oulton paddock of what McGill hit coming out of the chicane just as the red got thrown in race 1? As it looks to have done some serious damage to his car? - Scott
Cheers Scott. We are still lacking a bit in the car and I definitely don’t claim to be the best driver in the world but hopefully we find a bit more time after oulton as we have a new engine going in
@@richardthompson7133for me I find it the hardest track of the calendar. Some tracks lend itself to you and car and that track for me doesn’t seem to suit either
Amazing. For acar that felt loose in the warm up laps that was as good as it gets. Loking forward to the next one.Not sure anyone could talk all the time an ddrive like that ....
Brilliant racing 👍 Learnt a lot just watching where you positioned the car, you where always in the right place to make a move without any aggression 👌
Absolutely brilliant race! 👏 I was actually gutted when you crossed the line and started slowing down because the race was done. I could've easily watched another 20 minutes of that.😁 I think the conclusion that can be drawn is this... As much as it's suboptimal starting from the back of the pack, it delivers us some cracking race footage! 😂 - Scott
Cheers Scott. My dad and mate also said the same thing. Better from the back but don’t think I can go into this weekend at oulton and purposely start at the back 😂
Well , Been following cmmcs , hot hatch championship an then the typ r championship an I gess RU-vid learns what you like to watch . I'm hoping to get on the track an start racing in the next couple of years and I I'm a type r man through an through. I love your comantry an how calm you are in each race
@@danielmarshall8293 oh cheers bud. So just popped up in suggested videos. It is dangerous mind bud. Once you get behind the seat it gets rather addictive.
Hi Dave 👋 I was watching this race on the live stream to see how you did and was gutted to see you at the side of the track with a very smokey looking engine. I'm kinda glad in a strange way that it was a cooling issue over a blown engine. 😅 That was a fantastic race up until that point. I'm not 100% sure if the car behind you would've ever made the apex if it didn't use you as a secondary brake. Who knows, maybe it was shaping up to be the best Civic overtake of the century...😅 It's also great to see how much respect you have from the front runners and Paul O'Neil too. Looking forward to the next upload as I believe the next race was a better one that this. 😅 - Scott
Cheers Scott. Trust me, I was glad to see it was just radiator cap had come off, nothing major but very disappointing. It was a hard hit for sure. I only stopped racing kite as Lewis Kent was on the grass on the right and was under yellows. Yeah the next race we tried something with the car and in worked, next upload will be Thursday next week at 6pm. Thanks for the support bud
@@davemarshallracing I take it there wasn't much damage to the back of the car after the impact? Was there many aches and pains after this round from that "gentle" love tap? 😅 I shall keep my eyes open for the next one. 👀 - Scott
Hi Dave, congratulations for the video, I'm trying to reproduce the car in assetto corsa for amateur championships, can you please tell me which rims are fitted and which tires, thanks
Thanks bud. Car is built to civic cup spec. Full spec can be found in regulations on civic cup website but essentially car is 240 bhp and close to 1250kg with driver and fuel
Hi Dave, New subscriber Love the last race last year at Cad Park, Great lines on your qualy laps👍Really like your commentary mate, refreshing to hear decent commentary while driving and not all the waffle. RAW works looking forward to the weekly qualy and races
It is built to regs of the civic cup bud. If you go on the website and go onto 2024 civic cup regs you can see exactly what is done. Engine is standard other that bolt on parts and a map and done 136,000 miles. Makes around 240 bhp
