Glad I decided to youtube "Wahl trimmer" instead of just buying a new set after taking my current one apart to clean. Can't believe that little spring clip was the issue.
Thank God for this 😭🥹❤️❤️❤️🩹 a client brought this to my barbershop and after I was done cutting his hair I tried to lose it and clean and hand it back to him and all of a sudden a loud noise from the blade, I felt I spoilt cos it tried several but the noise couldn’t stop. I told him to leave it with me and come back tomorrow to pick up the clipper, I had to browse about the clipper model and came across this video, honestly it has saved me from a lot of explanations or buying a new clipper for him ❤🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬 Nigeria
So like I said I just received the top piece replacement but I can’t get it on now matter what I do..and it is the same exact as the one I broke…WAHL 9649…it shouldn’t be this hard..haha I just keep rewatching how easy you put it back on and. I just laugh in frustration 😂😂😢
So I removed the head to clean it and I broke a small piece of the black plastic that clicks and holds the whole top part on the machine…I reached out to WAHL and they agreed to replace the entire top part of the machine..I just got it package right now..I came here to see how to click it on as I’m having. Trouble doing it…when I spoke to the agent they thought that I had said that I tired to do what you are doing at the beginning..disassembly of the top piece…they mentioned that I shouldn’t do it because this was done by robot/machine…just thought I’d share with you guys…but I had always heard of people doing it …but I mm not going to take my chances…nice video mate …
Genius. The magic is at 0:55 and another thing that helped to reduce vibration was to press down on the metal retaining clips on the clippers themselves to hold the whole thing tighter. Thank you!!
Thank you so much! I cleaned the blades, put it back and it wouldn't cut anymore. I was about to throw it away and buy a new one. It's so simple, that clip needs to stay on top of the blade!!!
DUDE Kurt. You rock. My wife took ours apart clean it then it did the same thing like everyone else mentions. Tried cutting mine and our little boys and unfortunately it caused some pain for us all, literally. Tonight's attempt kicked a search and by some miracle the same model popped up and wahlah. It sounds better and looks right already. Hopefully tomorrow's attempt goes well! Thank you so much for this simple fix!
Thank you! We just bought the Wahl 9649 PET clippers, and were about to return them after one use because of the same issue! I should note they have the same blade assembly and the manual only says "9649 rechargeable", so I am definitely confused as to how the "Pet model" is different to the standard model 😅 Following the steps in this video solved my problem, and I am pretty annoyed that Wahl's manual is so vague and doesn't outline this crucial step!
Thanks so much for the video. I just disassembled our Wahl 9649 (used for our dogs; I no longer have enough hair left to warrant its use). I reassembled it using this video and it appears to be working well.
Absolutely Brilliant! Like many others, I had taken mine apart for cleaning and when I put it back together...that same horrible sound. I must have spent two hours or more tinkering with it and couldn't figure it out. As soon as you pointed out that the clip holds both blades, I could see the scrape marks on the larger blade where the clip had been previously. That worked like a charm! Thank you so much for posting this video!!!
I literally just bought my clipper last night and while trying to check if the blade is adjustable, I mistakenly detached the blades from the spring. I had spent hours trying to fix it until I came to RU-vid and saw your video. You’re my hero❤🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for posting! I had the same issue you described above after cleaning my clipper. The official Wahl video tells you to remove the two screws holding the clipper (because it's designed for clippers with lever). I did this and everything flew out as I tried to remove the clipper (doh!).
I just bought this razor and went to oil it before using it for the first time. When you unscrew those 2 screws, the spring holding everything tightly together pops off and it wont cut. I thought I had a defective unit until I saw this video and successfully (although nearly impossible to get back together... I used a butter knife to help, lol) these are back to cutting, THANK YOU!!
