I have been following the song for decades in the mid 70s didn't know the group or the singer but I followed the older show of sold gold you'll still be able on RU-vid, and watch it very often. this has to be my favorite of all time. but very much not given her due to her craft. and style. PCT Nurse. My mom grew up with a 60s icon Ms Payne.
I MADE A PROMISE TO ALLAH THAT I WOULD LOVE YOU UNTIL HIS DECREE INSHALLAH YARABB 9/26 AM WAITING 50%50 WHEN U TAKE 1ST STEP 🪜 ALLAH WILL TAKE SECOND STEP 4 YOU SUCCESS IS DECREED BY ALLAH AMIN
remember this is a group of perfect voices......too much emphasis on two.......and yet I hear ALL FIVE.............emphasis should be within all.........save the country, come on People...........we can build a dream of this or that..........tone down TECH...........in fact get rid of it..........
Biden has had his chance to save the country and he failed miserably. Probably because that ounce of sense you speak of was never there and never will be there. Time to move on.
Absolutely gorgeous i have tears in my eyes watching this gorgeous performance. Marylin Mccoo and the Fifth Dimension are truly one of a kind and there will never be any group to match them. Just look at those outfits i need to borrow them. The 70s had great music wonderful fun style and were a great time to grow up in❤❤❤
Such a beautiful blend of voices, Marilyn's lower voice againt Florence's and then Billy's taking it to the church. It's all about the vocals and these are golden.
Man, man, man!! What a bunch these guys were! Far beyond fabulous - and the song. Brings happy tears to my eyes. It SOUNDS like the world felt to 18-year-old ME in the early 1970s - but I realize now that I simply wasn't equipped to take it all in. Should have been listening more intently to THE FIFTH DIMENSION! Thank you, wonderful people!
I've only been familiar with the Eleanor Mills version but this one is so, SO good. Florence's vocals were just as rich and smooth as Marilyn's. They just don't make music this lovely anymore.
This song really lifted me up today. Took me out of a funk. What a group. So privileged to live in the 70’s when this kind of music was the backdrop to our day to day lives. What junk they play now a days.
This group is still excellent and I still like to listen them sing. They may have sung long ago, but their songs have a quality seldom seen in more recent songs.
I don't know. These just seems lumpen and unsubtle next to Laura's version. That said, "New York Tendaberry" might just be my favourite album ever, so its hard for anything to measure up to anything on that.
Rex Reed, one of the toughest critics of all time described New York Tendaberry as a masterpiece equivalent to anything created by George Gershwin. She was 20 years old when she completed it
@@samkohen4589 Miles Davis wandered into the session as he was recording next door. He was offered the opportunity to play on a song but he left, saying there was no way he could improve on what he heard.
Nice version. I remember Robin Lamont’s original version on 70’s radio when I was 5-6 years old. Love this song. I’m 52 now and still sing it to myself. ❤
I just listened to this in an episode of Signed, Sealed, Delivered (actually, this one was a movie): The Vows We Have Made (2021)... and thought, I know this song from my childhood (as sung by The Association), but this -- the warmth of this voice -- it's Marilyn McCoo! Perfectly chosen music for this fabulous saga of stories!
What a fabulous career they had! Ronald Townson (1933 - 2001) is reportedly the only original member of the group who is no longer living. The five original members were Billy Davis, Jr., Florence LaRue, Marilyn McCoo, Lamonte McLemore, and Ron Townson.
