Dont think he is too big for his boots. He is brilliant drive and up there on the list. He left red bull because they were dicking him around and his car kept breaking every other race
The more I think about it, the less impact I think Newey will have right away, but for a different reason. Yes, his cars have a ridiculous win record of like 20% of all races ever, insane. But, if you really drill down onto those championship winning cars, they are ALL in eras where downforce is king. Heavy, bigger cars with a shitload of downforce. In eras where lightness and quickness were the regs, his cars didn’t really come close. 2026 and forward will be a new era of light and quick cars, so no, I’m now of the mind that he won’t make nearly as much of an impact. I’d still be willing to hedge my bets (2026 and forward) on Lewis and Ferrari. His ability to get comfortable with new cars is pretty uncommon across the grid, he can do it quite quickly and quite well. It’s like Max sussing out where the grip is, he’s just on another level there. What we shouldn’t ignore is Lewis ability to give consistent and relevant feedback to his design and engineering team. I think having a driver that can really push those changes and that development forward is underrated, and something we don’t see too much anymore.
One key point that McLaren is missing: having a killer instinct and playing the team game aren’t mutually exclusive. Lando worries too much about the latter, and needs to focus on believing in himself. His mental fragility is what will keep him from ever winning a WDC. Oscar has that strength of mind. Lando doesn’t.
the F1 Circus that Hollywood bought....Dissed DannyRic deliberately....they wanna do a fucking hollywood cash in on him by makin a BIG CIRCUS about it he is a cash cow
Lando needs to stop moving ovr for Oscar. Piastri is good and he's showing he don't care how tight the turn is, he don't give a shit about yur feelings. He's bullying Lando off the track, Lando needs to push back. He needs to hold his position, and if that means they collide, then they collide. Then see what the team has to say about it.
George 'Woody the Cowboy from Toy Story' Russell gets a lot of bad press, (especially on social media from Hamilton Fanboys; but, he's very much a victim in this particular affair. Mercedes have to take the blame this time. "The buck stops with Toro Wolff" as penny-pinching part-owner of Mercedes AMG PETRONAS and team principal; he's proved not very good at the job, but good at taking the blame! Sir LionHeart Lewis Hamilton gets all the 'spoils' for a change, considering his unenviable situation of leaving for Ferrari and getting treated like a pariah, instead of the legendary racing driver he is and who is most certainly responsible for the 8 year long dominant international Formula1 Grand Prix World Constructors Championships Titles' won . . . The stars are all aligned for him to do well enough at Ferrari and to make them a lot of Money with his globsl brand and upon retirement, earn The Dark Knight a Life Peerage, as The Right Honorable The Lord Lewis, Baron, of Stevensge in County Hertfordshire. Betcha that famous international diva Shakira won't be the only 'available' for the suitably unmarried Hamilton, also now a collection designer for famous global brand high fashion house, 'Christian Dior'.
Max had dominance in 2023 only. 2022 started with Charles taking a big lead in points remember…. And this season Max won 7 out of14 races. Merc had domination from 2014-2020!!! Max/RBR only dominated in 2023…. Stop with these bogus false statements!!
All F1 teams throughout his career have "Lost him" due to proof of their ethical deficits. What true criteria he uses to choose a team ? Your Hass lineup is a big drop in talent from Hulk/KMag. Ocon is a accident that will happen repeatedly. Maldonado was a far better racer who didn't take out "his teammates" or sour the team spirit (as much). Flav got lotsa money in 2009 for the team (post Enron & sub-prime banking). He is a high functioning douche. You guys must be fallen "Leaf's" ( '68 ?) fans. West Coaster - BC, Sabres fan since '72 ( Stanley cup before To. or Van. in 2027) Unfortunately Buffalo is currently owned by the worst "fracking douche" on the planet. Over
As far as Lance in F1, Sainz would absolutely be an improvement. In factual reality how many other current drivers looking for next year would be an improvement (on the track - not in your sheep brains - bahaaa). Magnusen (who i really appreciate as a 69% Kimi) is equal or very marginally better. You-kee, Daniel, NFW; Botas(?). Everyone i mentioned besides Sainz is a poor qualifying Trulli, mediocre race consistency. You forgot Seb when denigrating Alonso - who is still top 5 of existing drivers. Ass-tonne has yet to develop a good first race car into a good mid - end of season car. Now rich kids are a pain and only one mega rich kid or sponsored wealth truly impresses me, as a well developed human at F1 speed - Lando. My type of drivers JM Fangio, JC, GV/JV, AP, KR, JPM, FA, CS jr, LN, OP. Riders; Kevin Schwantz, Casey Stoner, Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, Pedro Acosta. Over
7:10 According to Autosprint, the published source for this story, it's $100 million over 4 years, so $25M per year (somewhere between reported Leclerc and Norris salaries).
About Perez. He knows too much. if they sack him, he'll take what he knows to the next team and that would spell disaster for RB. The FIA has recently closed a loophole in the regulation, to ban the use of 'asymmetric braking' to turn the rear wheels. This was already illegal, the rumor is this may have been used by one of the teams. LOL, guess whose performance has fallen off in recent races?
hahahaha this is new news to me!!!!!! Id like to take a deep dive on that during the summer break and see what we have going on. We are recording a new episode tonight, and Ill def bring that up to the boys! Thanks for the info dude!!!
About those tires. Tires lose rubber. The longer you have those tires, the more weight they lose. There are calculations done for this. Russell pitted very early lap 11, and then wanted to drive to the end of the race on that set. On every other track after the race they go around again on a celebration lap, This is often used to pick up the rubber marbles on the track to increase the weight of the car. In Spa they don't do this extra lap, and this is what cost Russell the win, Something else to note, Russell's plank had worn excessively, this meant he was riding closer to the ground, and also getting a much better downforce/traction/speed in the corners,
WHO is upstairs at Mercedes making the business decisions, to give away one Sir Lewis Carl Davidson Hamilton MBE, seven-time world champion, only to retain one Andrea Kimi Antonelli because he has a CHANCE to become the next Max Emilian Verstappen? The man who, in football metaphors, has the record of Pele and marketability of Cristiano? Mercedes had a chance to become a dynasty, but I guess this just reaffirms the fact we already knew about who is the true dynasty.
Yaaaaa not everybody is happy with that call. I think Lewis, deep down, wanted a change and Ferrari offered that to him. And tbh, I think Kimi is the best option that Merc has right now. Even if its a wild card
Thanks guys for the podcast, you’ve just earned a new sub. Guys, Merc have made one of the worst business decisions in history by making SLH seek an opportunity at SF. However, SF is not ready for SLH in 2025. Toto is under pressure because Merc has transferred wealth to their rivals SF, that is why we are witnessing these gambles, blunders, Max offers, and shady operations. Stockholders hate losing money, leadership that costs you money eventually are put out to pasture.
@@tembosoundsshow9867 well thank you, my friend! We appreciate your support! Let us know if there are any other questions or topics you want us to cover next week during the summer break! We need ideas from our people!!
It's not really a scandal, and doesn't deserve the "gate" suffix. It was just a screw-up. Hamilton got disqualified after finishing in P1 just last season over having slightly too much wear on the barge board, which was the same type of problem, gambling with the margins of the minimum requirements and getting burnt, but at least with the barge board problem it was a calculated gamble which didn't quite work, whereas this weight problem was the result of an actual mistake.
@@F1TrueNorthYes, I think they gambled and knew at the end they had screwed up. Toto's face said it all. They were just not prepared for the one stop. Lewis had asked to do it prior to Russell and was told no, because they were worried about him covering off Leclerc.
I think they have had to push close to the margins because they have been off the pace. So, yes, I think it was a miscalculation because they switched mid race to a one stop which clearly was not favoured, and they didn't recalculate properly. Did they try to get sneaky during scrutineering, I think so. I think they knew they had screwed up and tried to leave some fuel in the car to keep it over the weight limit.
I think it is significant that only two drivers went for the one stop. Given his track position and late first stop it seemed the natural tactic for Norris to choose but McLaren went with the two stop. I have to assume that the pre-race calculations of all the teams suggested that there were significant limitations, including having to carry extra weight from the start to keep the car over the weight limit at the end of the race, to account for the lighter tyres.
Gotta disagree boys. I think Zac was just covering their ass, and in a way Lando’s ass. No universe exists where he comes out and admits to any turmoil on tv, but I mean we all felt the awkwardness. I think that after being there this long, Lando’s general attitude (and the little tantrum at the end, poor Lewis lol) has def put a strain on the relationship with the team
Wrong, Lando stuffed up his start and Oscar took advantage of it. The team pitted lando first, when any other team in F1 would pit the car ahead first. Oscar has now more wins then Lando in F1.
I won't comment on the video or anything inside of it since I don't have the time to watch it, but ill tell you what I think about the title. Lando did not "deserve" to win the Hungarian Gran Prix and many arguments to why he should of are just overcomplicating it. Piastri won from the start overtook lando lap one, kept ahead of him the whole race until the pit stop, which it was Mclaren as a team's fault, Piastri should of boxed first since he was ahead, it's that simple.
I don't disagree with you. I think that was Oscar's race, too. But Lando was pulling a serious gap on him and if the pit timing went differently, we might have had a close race at the end. Which they were trying to avoid (despite messing it up regardless)
1. They, McLaren drivers had an agreement. The first crossing lap one would be the winner. 2. Norris in the future will need Piastris help. 3, put a guy like Piastri as a second driver would have bad consequences in the future.
Liam Lawson's career is over at the end of the season if they put him against Max after 5 races last year. Danny will also get retired by Max but its time for Danny to go anyway. He can't be worse than Checo, and he can keep the seat warm and the sponsor money rolling in while they give Liam a season to get acclimated to F1 before he has to taoe on the goat.
As for car vs driver, I would say for all-around speed, McLaren, then Merc & RB, then Ferrari. I think another factor to consider is drivability of the car. McLaren & Merc have both seemed to settle into a safe place where both drivers can get the most out of the cars. By contrast, look at the inconsistency of RB & Ferrari; one does great the other does terrible. The first two have made cheetahs, and the second two have made mustangs. Both fast, but one seems a little more…untameable. As an aside, I do think once Oscar gets more experience, he’ll win more than Lando. Oscar doesn’t get in his own head, Lando lives there.
Checo is definitely going, esp if the constructors standings get closer. I also think Red Bull needs another safe bet, and I think they’ll pick a proven race winner over one that hasn’t, even though Lawson & Tsunoda look great, I don’t think it’s a safe enough bet. You guys are right though they don’t seem to be the team to take unnecessary risks, everything is highly calculated
