Brilliant woman, brilliant, that you can bring these things so clearly out, we all need to completely completely understand this for not only chi , life force, we can actually breathe with astrality at the same time,,,,,, That’s pretty gorgeous if you really know what it is ,,,,,,,,,hey everybody??
So how’s it going nowAre you able to keep on sharing . I’d love to know how it is over in your part of the village of life,,,The living life forces streaming
The different vantage point of the camera here is also quite helpful. Although philosophically worlds apart with different aesthetic aims, this setup with the mover and the pianist occupying shared (equal) space, is so redolent of the earliest 20th century chamber / concert hall presentations of Isadora Duncan when she was solely preoccupied with the revival of archaic Greek mystery. (Her most creative period within the context of her life from this writer's view) It doesn't take much force of the Imagination to catch fleeting glimpses here of the eurythmy translation of invisible impulses which may well have instigated her movements as well as the original Greek sculptures by which she was so completely informed at that time. I would love to see eurythmy take on the newest, best quality, cutting edge music of the classical idiom. There's a lot of that music being produced today that is rarely heard let alone EXPERIENCED. (Eurythmy, through its movements, its costumes, and lighting could be a really valuable helpmate in that experiential aspect). I intuit an underlying strong step in that direction here. I think that radical intersection would help eurythmy in its growth too. In my (I-hope-not-arrogant) opinion, if eurythmy is going to DEVELOP as a vital art form -- which I believe it can -- it must push beyond its historical museum of European Romantic Classical tonal expressions and move towards alignment with the SUBSTANTIVE new. I'd even say that it's going to have to embrace things it's sensibility says it doesn't "like". That is not a call to abolish its foundations --- its root system --- nor damage it's essential aesthetic qualitative rigor, it's a call to not become mired in THE PAST and move through and in a living PRESENT. (Please understand I see that as different from retrofitting something as mindlessly "relevant" to outside-created cultural circumstances) Thank you, Gabrielle Armenier. I fell upon all this by "accident" Friday and it provided me a weekend foray into revelation, insight -- and attending those -- that elusive spiritual element we refer to as "Joy". I will never perceive eurythmy in the exactly the same way as before. All the very best in your efforts, Ms. Armenier! You've done and do very well!
Again, so interesting and revelatory . An essential human 'singing' relation to music in mutually occupied space translated through the symbol known as the human physical body.
Have I missed something concerning eurythmy all these years -- or am I a better listener as a result of being older? This is so fascinating. Why does this sound so completely different from what I previously understood? I would love to the hear complete versions of these talks given by Gabrielle Armenier. They articulate so clearly a movement form I have never been able to get a handle on. ( Believe, me -- I have tried) Her actual performance videos here are additional, elucidating "icing" on this good cake. Thank you very much for this.
This is quite helpful to this very interested 'outsider' who is not connected to Anthroposophical Movement in any kind of formal sense. The nuanced delivery here -- quite well video documented, I must say -- has brought me the closest I've come to my actually apprehending particular qualities which distinguishes eurythmy from other movement arts. I've read what must be hundreds of Steiner writings and his and others eurythmy related texts. I witnessed beautifully mounted performances by the Eurythmeum Stuttgart ca. 40 years ago and a multitude of varying quality videos. It's like a door opened for me here into a performance art which has often seemed (perhaps wrongly) to this viewer frustratingly obscure, hermetically sealed and a bit too precious for thoroughly justified theatrical presentation. (Excerpts from the recent Arvo Pärt LAMENTATE of the Eurythmeum Stuttgart offers a tantalizing "taste" of what seems a clear exception to that) Thank you for posting this and the other equally enlightening eurythmy-oriented videos here. This is in the best sense educative and I'm glad to witness my former hesitancies disqualified.
So grateful this was filmed and posted! We need more eurythmy on the internet! I felt all of the etheric in my heart. It won't kill the etheric. We just need to learn how to feel it in ourselves through sight. So gorgeous!
Thank you for clarifying Eurythmy--it has been so sidelined by misunderstanding in the modern world...I would modify your statement about center of gravity--- the center of gravity mechanically---from the Ahrimanic side---remains in the hips--due to gravity and necessary skeletal and weight dynamics---but the center of MEANING or perhaps "emanation" or "propulsion" is from the heart...this also indicates a very specific change in approach toward sexual energy transforming it upwards from the hips into the alchemical heart producing a transmutation of energy...love the renewal of the Greek Scupture concept too...
Wow, eurythmy usually translates so poorly to video, this rather makes it work. I would be very curious to see it live. Well done. Lots of interesting choices.
Visible Music - the ennoblement of the human being - transformational and healing - used pedagogically, artistically and therapeutically - a beautiful meditation.
Very, very fine expression of the heart: The movement, they music, the violinist and the videography. The confused world we live in today needs you three!
it is beautiful! the music, the eurythmy, the choreography. It is been a long time, since I last saw such good eurythmy! Thank you very much for sharing.
