USMC Pigservist ("E" 2/25) in 1986. Ship to shore operations at Onslow Beach NC, both LVT and CH-46 (I believe a few landings on CH-53's also).

I was on for USMC med cruise I believe it was 1989. Good times.

I did a med USMC med cruise on her in January toJune 1976 and we were off the coast of Lebanon just prior to the evacuation of American civilians. I worked on the signal deck with a great bunch of sailors. Semper Fi!

Dave Malecek - FN /IC3 - 4/74 to 12/75 - Many memories of my time on this Ship & it crew..Med cruise of 74 (4 months anchored in Lake Tiemsa Eygpt). Dry dock in San Juan PR Feb/Mar75, Summer 75 cruises to Halifax, Seemingly endless months tied up at Little Creek VA.

87 Unitas was a wild ride especially around the horn when we lost the seal on the bow door and the well deck flooded. 3ft of water everywhere forward of the well deck. Hummers, crates and payloaders smashing up everything in the well deck.

barnstable county was decommisioned and sold to spain in 1994,i was on the decomm crew,good times in little creek!!!

I commission the Barnstable County in Long beach Calif. I work for Chief Green house we sorted all the osi material for back load. I worked in the disbursing office, I have heard the the ship is decommission, this is here say and nobody has sent me anything.

Good to see the old girl. Part of the original plank owners crew. Brought her around from Long Beach, Cal. to Little Creek. Had just as much fun on her.

i was on the barnstable 83-84 with 22 mau went to grenada and beruit the sailors treated us very well had lots fond memories thanks you guys were great

i remember being stationed on this ship back in 89-90, fondest memories, marine maneuvers at Norfolk. Was on a landing craft and biggest fear, sharks, but that shit was fun.
