Great video. It is difficult to get anybody showing maintenance on the jaguar xe at that age on youtube. Thanks. Question... where did you get the pry tool?
Hi dave im in desperate need of some help iv an 06 st focus which is in need of some refurb work on both front and rear sub frame and bushings. Really hope you could help and maybe pm me love the videos of the mk2 videos gives me hope for my own.
Thanks for the vid 👍🏻 I purchased a kuga with full service history and decided to do some basics myself, so I did cabin filter and it was absolutely full of crud and rubbish and was not put in correctly and actually quite damaged from I presume forcibly putting it in, I then changed the air filter and it was full of rubbish and crud and I’m soon going to do the fuel filter and expecting it to be yes you’ve guessed full of rubbish and crud, full service my bottom ! Sad world we live in when garages can’t even do basic car servicing 🤬 You pay a good price and expect things to be done to a high professional standard by trained mechanics but nope, might as well do it yourself if you cherish your vehicle. Rant over 😅
Brilliant video. I pulled the carpet back from the bulkhead and drilled the aluminium with a 20mm hole saw to access the bolts on the EGR pipe worked a treat.
hello, I changed 2 injectors and it no longer wants to start, I wrote the injectors, I checked if fuel comes on the ramp and everything is ok, could you tell me what the problem would be?
Hello, what is that grinding soun on background? Comming from the engine somewhere i supposed! I have that too but i can't identify where is it comming from. Any ideas? THX
Thankyou so very much for posting this, pushed the bolts out with ease so very glad you took the time to not only show this but for sharing it made the job effortless
Two things: One. I loved your theory. I will be using it in my future diagnostics. (how not to fry your shunt resistor). Two. Please do not teach new techs about piercing wires. I am from the North East and we have a lot of corrosion issues. Would you ever think of piercing your test leads? Do not pierce your automotive wiring.1/2 second of bad video but the rest was great. After seeing your video I tackled the job on my wife's 2017 Jag Turbo Diesel and easily completed it in less than 30 minutes . Much easier than I expected . Thanks again , George .
Hi Dave, just wandering when you removed the pump from the engine, do you need to set any timing of the motor for when you replace the pump to motor...or just slots back into the cog mechanism on the motor...
Volvo recommend a haldex service every 15 k miles and just. Oil drain then insert 700 ml of oil. Also if you get a. Recon haldex from vw or volvo. They dont clean lut the accumulate r so you will get the problem again with astuck or clogged accu piston.
15k Miles, never heard anybody stating that interval. Accumulater is non serviceable and non replaceable so a Recon with a bad Accumulater will be no different which we have found to happen. I thought I covered this in the video
@@davesterl Dave , I worked for vw in Emden for 15 years and it was common knowledge then that a service was to be carried out regularly. Unfortunately neither Volvo or vw put this in their service schedule. Regular service ie filter and oil change stops the crud blocking up the oilways. Your video is one of the best I have seen.
I have just had my gear box oil changed on mine ,it’s exactly the same car as that Audi , I was charged £365 is that about the right price ? Thanks in advance for any reply,
Thanks a ton mate, i was just changing my tires and wondered if i should replace the filter too while i had it in the garage. Saw that filter housing next to the tank and couldn't believe my eyes, a fuel filter in such a convenient place :D I had to check from RU-vid if this was indeed the case and it sure was.
Regarding oil types, my 2017 Fiat 124 Spyder with this same engine uses oil that meets MS12991 standard (whatever that is) which is not found on Mobil 1 and many other common Euro labeled oil. I only found it on Pennzoil Euro 5W-40 and Quaker State Euro 5W-40. Its hard to discern the differences between rating standards but going with what the manual requires is best! Good video and new info on that little filter. Thanks Dave!
I fitted an after market rear wheel bearing with studs on my Mondeo and the studs were longer than Ford ones so the closed head nuts bottomed out before going tight. Great video, thanks.
