I so love Jimmy Page, and will til my dying day. I once asked God: God, I will give you my left nut, if you can make me play guitar like Jimmy Page! God replied, "Samuel, you can keep your nuts. I'll just make you funny." :)
I know I am late to the game, but want to add that, as a life-long guitarist, two things: Jimmy Page is the reason I picked up the instrument, and this is my favorite solo of all he's produced, and I challenge all the asswipes who say he's "sloppy" to listen to this.
This really is the best solo at least I think it is . Who else thinks so ? He's right on with his music although my husband thinks Jimmy Page was a sloppy guitar player . We saw Led Zeppelin in the early years around 1978. Now it's 2024 and he really was brilliant 👏 😀 I like his body of work in all their music 🎶 🎵. I like his style and sound he delivers with every guitar 🎸 🎶 he uses in their music. Their music lives on! Who's listening in 2024?
I’m just a complete stranger on RU-vid but your video was randomly recommended to me, and it shattered me. I am deeply sorry about the loss of your brother, just know he’s in good hands with God and he’ll always still be around in spirit. Hope you’re doing ok, god bless 🙏💙🕊
Beautiful, my friends... I ❤you! (So funny, i was looking for something and logged onto youtube. And what to my wondering eyes should appear but a Christmas song with Audrey and Kevin! What a neat mother-son relationship you two have!
I've never really stuck on led zeppelin, I know blasphemy, always been a Pink Floyd man, until I learned most of the legends from 50s to present day especially this era of rock they have a lot of the same habits as guitarists, most of these solos are within or just outside the 1st position boxes and minor pentatonic boxes 5 or 6 or 7 note scales. This dramatically narrows the learning process right down to rythum and slamming it with the drummer.
Wow, K....your new guitar is BEAUTIFUL! It has an awesome sound, too! And YOU play BEAUTIFULLY! Enjoy your new "baby"! 😇😇😇 (By the way, this is Linda...)
This was the solo that changed my life as a teen and made me put down the bong and pick up the guitar. It has been a 40-year love affair with Jimmy Page and the guitar ever since.
Arguably (even to myself) Jimmy Page’s finest moment caught on tape. I’ve been listening to this performance for over 35yrs , and it never gets old. His ability to play a jazz based progression while using Blues as the phrasing and expression is brilliant - and it all (most likely) is free flowing improvisation. The guitar tone is second to none.
all the experts & critics & jimmy bashers saying Mr Page was sloppy live etc need to understand Jimmy had a drug problem and probably alcohol too, but when he was focused and not overdoing the drugs/alcohol and knowing this was being filmed/recorded for the movie jimmy was as focused and and great on guitar as this. how he's laid back entering the solo, slowly getting involved with JBJ & Bonzo and then bursting in and creating a solo with both some speed & aggression & passion, ONE OF THE GREATEST. And no one comes close to him in the studio.
