What about the metal frame that the windows are installed in, instead of inside wood window frames, I would think you risk cracking the glass to install them, I have 6 floor to ceiling hurricane impact windows in my sunroom and the walls are concrete/CBS structure as I live in Florida. Thank you.
We have installed into metal frames without an issue. Please reach out to your local Sunburst in Florida to see how they can help. www.sunburstshutters.com/find-location
Great but my louvre has come loose from the vertical piece that directs the opening and shutting of the louvrers causing that one louvre not to move with the others. How do I correct that pin?
If you are still having trouble with your louver the staple might need to be replaced or the tension is off. You can contact our shop and we'll talk you through it 480-413-0775
So how do you remove a pin that's stuck? It's so frustrating seeing someone remove the pin from the shudder as if it's easy. If it was easy, I wouldn't be here. What about a broken pin that's stuck?
I just came across this video and needed to replace staples and magnets. I called Sunburst Shutters and they were willing to send out the replacement staples, but not the magnets, at least not for free. Since I live 15 minutes from their location I drove down and got 10 staples and 20 magnets (yes 20) at no charge. These guys are the best! Thank you Sunburst!
These cheap Chinese pins degrade in the sunlight all of mine are failing and just fall off. I repair 3-4 every week. Is there a replacement pin that won’t degrade in sunlight?
If the staples are in the Polywood shutters they are very difficult to remove as the Polywood almost melts around the staples upon insertion from the factory. Wood shutter staples are glued in but both wood and Polywood staples are easily replaced should they come loose.
Thank you very much for a great video and most of all for sending us the staples at no cost! We fixed our shutters over the weekend following your instructions. It was as easy and now they are working better than ever. Again, a thousand thanks.
I’ve just smashed my shutter in anger. The actually single panel is damaged and the wood is chipped off. The pin is also damaged. I’m assuming I need a new louvre all together?
Guarantee you that 99% of all louvers are broken by women and 99% of all repairs are done by men. Women are hard on things because they're usually not the ones who have to fix them. Fight me.
Hi ...I am wondering how to remove the broken pins ...it is broken fro. the middle so one part stayed in the bar and the other one in shutter? also from where can I buy the pins? thanks for the great help
Hi Mohammed. Breaking off the staples in the tilt rod is a hassle. I usually grind a sharp points on a new staple and insert it right next to the staple leg that broke off. Feel free to call any time and we can discuss. Thanks, George
I got in touch with Gorge about my plantation shutters and he was able to direct me to another one of their locations where Karyn took care of my issue; meanwhile, George sent me the clips that I needed as he promised. These folks are awesome, they have gone way over my expectations to help me. I do highly recommend this company for any blinds anyone may be thinking of getting, replacing or fixing. I will definitely keep them in my contacts for future jobs and I do hope you do too. Thanks.
