@@RobertArevalos-dl2ce the whistle is from the catless downpipes, but my car is fully straight piped. You could do high flow catted down pipes and probably get some turbo whistle.
@@mokhtaraliars2084 not sure if u are in US or not, but 2012-2014 E550 Sedan and even coupe came with 4.7L V8 Biturbo (M278). M278 is based off the 5.5L V8 Biturbo in the E63.
@@adamantee1 that video and currently no mufflers yes. Straight pipe from bridge pipe Back. Even right now it’s not that loud unless I step on it. The turbos muffle the sound.
All very good advice. The cylinder scoring was also supposedly addressed in the 2014 and later models. Adding a tune increases the service interval, especially for spark plugs and adds pressure on the transmission! The m278 v8 bi-turbo was available through 2017, specifically in the Cabriolet model, however is extremely rare to find a 2017 E550 Cabriolet, especially with additional packages! I know they are out there because I own one 😊
@@NickeryNelson yes these cars were definitely not made with performance as a top priority, since there is already the E63. But for those who are one a tighter budget still looking to have fun it’s a great option. I have done all of my fluids, spark plugs, carbon clean, filters etc. Maintenance always first. You are right the cabriolet and my car are both rare examples.
@@NickeryNelson well not a true carbon cleaning that would mean actually taking everything apart and cleaning/blasting the valves etc. But I followed Luke Brosious video and sprayed the intake valve cleaner into the charge pipes while having someone hold the gas pedal. I did see good results following exactly what he said and I even noticed a little bit of carbon on the exhaust tips once I was done.
@@Stoley_S4 I like the Benz more just because of the size and more features. The s4 definitely feels lighter and more nimble but top end and mid range the Benz will win. Also these are less common than s4. Even though the s4 is a better dig car with the launch control I still like the power in the e550 more.
I am going to get it tuned and should make 600+hp easily possibly even 700. The s4 won’t be able to make that amount of power as easily. The Mercedes is about 4,100 pounds vs 3,900 pounds in the s4 which isn’t that big of a difference.
@@Drewski951 yes does have Bluetooth for calls/music (you can also get aftermarket screen for CarPlay). Performance has been great so far smooth and tame when u want it to be but also has really fun power when you want it for a pretty much stock daily.
@@danielguzman5540 I bought the car with the muff/second res delete and no cel. But I am planning to get catless downpipes so I will definitely have one then 😂
@@ItzCashCam I’m gonna deff subscribe bro I wana see what you do I actually bought the car not too long ago with 93k on it for a steal and I grabbed it but I’m hesitant to do any mods lol keep up the content bro I’m tuning in FS 🙌🏽
@@danielguzman5540 preciate it bro. I’m finishing up maintenance (changed all the fluids) then planning to do intakes and downpipes. These cars can make good power but it’s not cheap
@@ItzCashCam yeah fs bro trust me I just replaced the axles on the car because they where wearing out cost me about 2k for the parts and to get them replaced 😅
It’s dependent on maintenance. 10k miles for oil changes is too long. My car only had 2 owners before me and no accidents ever, also had a pre-purchase inspection. I didn’t have the Audi long about 5 months, just sold it because of the high insurance and it did have its issues. I’m sitting at about 162k.
My car was about $12k which is a great value for the car. I tried to get a later model because of the looks but also mechanical fixes Mercedes did throughout the years.
@@ItzCashCamcovered almost everything props to you brother, you recommend dailying this car. and driving it in the winter, gonna be doing that a lot for least 2 years
@@ep_487 I would definitely research common issues with these, there is alot of info/videos out there. Honestly dailying has been pretty good for TT V8 19city/28 highway and comfortable. I loved the Audi Quattro in the winter so I will have to see how the 4 matic holds up but considering the torque and depending on the tires it should do just fine.
I went the diy route which meant using carb cleaner, dremel bits, brushes and just using small picks to get it out. Had to do some vacuuming and blowing to get everything out. Also used popular trick where you take a bunch of zip ties cut the heads off and put a zip tie around to feed it into a drill. It just took time and patience. I may try diy walnut blasting next time as it’s easier method.
Make sure you are getting the right fuses and I’m not sure if this works on all models but I have a 2013 g37x. You just pull them out and you will see traction lights etc on the dash. There are other videos since maybe mine was hard to see.
i’m stock and just git a 2011 g37x at 110k miles, driven by a older lady lmao and is in amazing shape. this is exactly what i wanna do, should i cut my muffler and run test pipes with the stock res or cut my muffler and run a vibrant resonator
I would def run resonated test pipes no matter what. Not sure how loud a vibrant res with muffler delete would be but if it’s quality and good welds could sound pretty good but getting muffler delete is a safe and cheap option. Just keep in mind resonator pretty much has no effect on power.
I wish I could just make mine sound like it does on cold start all the time, bone stock but it sounds deeper almost like a V8 but not exactly, 30 seconds of bliss.
@@samholcombe3129 motordyne exhaust sound pretty clean. I only went this route because 1. I bought out straight piped 2. It was cheap but I would highly recommend actual exhaust or at least a vibrant resonator
@@ItzCashCam thanks man, I’m all about cheap mods, I wouldn’t care that much anyway if I do the dual mode deal where it’s quiet when I want quiet then hit the switch for a little more power and a lot of sound. That valve would probably be the most expensive part.
@@ItzCashCam how bad was it straight piped ? I have a cat back and test pipes and I wanna get a tune but I also want it to pop and sound better before I get a tune and it’s not that loud rn, should I straitpipe it ?
Depends on your location but a little more than I would be comfortable with where I am. Although finding clean low mile examples is getting pretty hard
Lol thinking bout doing this but Don’t Got My DL would you say cops fw you more with stock resonators back on I got Megan racing test pipes alr but want to take my mufflers off ?
