I love that there are so many interpretations regarding this love interest! I initially thought Syd & Marcus would be good fit until I watched the show for a third time. Yes third time. Right from the gate Syd comes in and assists with refining the vision Carmy wants for his family’s restaurant, a place he always loved and appreciated. It seems every time Carmy has a significant moment, a thought of Syd calms him. There was a scene in Season 3 where Carmy was on the brink of a panic attack and it was Syd’s voice that calmed him and got him back on track. They do have personal issues they need to address, however, Carmy did say that “he dosent love cooking” so maybe next season he’ll find what he truly loves. Either way I’m for Carmy and Syd!

I’m sorry but I don’t agree with this perspective. Jackie and Cole had that spark from the offset. Alex stole Jackie he had a silly crush but he saw his brother and Jackie loved each other and he manipulated her with the whole manhattenhenge thing when she was in a really vulnerable state. Not once did a Cole manipulate Jackie or try to push her, yes he broke down when he lost her and then he stepped up and put it right. However what really liked about the show is that it was a modern take on the whole falling for a bad boy story. And Cole says it himself to Parker in episode two, “nobody starts with the Super Bowl, you have to learn how to lose get back up again and win” he has to learn how to lose before he could win jackie’s heart. And they kissed because they are in love. He is absolutely infatuated with her and he has fixed himself and she can’t deny her love for him anymore. She shouldn’t have gone with Alex but she chose him because he’s safe and at the time Cole was not. Fixing him was not her job. I love that this is not another love story we’re the woman fixes the man, he did that himself, he loved her and what he had become was not who he was inside. As the song said so perfectly episode 4 “you’re the one”
I feel like Claire loves the Carmy before Michael and Carmy wants to get back to that version of himself because he was more in control. Sydney loves Carmy for who he is now. Toxic. Broken. Brilliant. He needs to hit rock bottom to rebuild, and when he does, Sydney will be there. Maybe they'll never be lovers but their bond will be unbreakable

I absolutely want Syd and Carmy together, just not quite yet. I want Syd to leave the Bear to run the other restaurant, get a star on her own, and make a name for herself equal to Carmy's. So when they do get together, it will be as equals. I feel bad for Claire because by the time she came along, we were already in love with Syd. It's not Claire's fault. And the way they introduced her was rushed and not in-depth enough--but I think they'll fix that next season. This show isn't linear. I think we'll find out a lot more about Claire and why she fell for Carmy back in high school, but we'll also see why she opts to walk away. [She tells Carmy at the party that she's used to taking care of "sad, drunk people." I think it'll turn out she didn't just mean her friends, but her family. That's probably part of why she became a doctor. And it's why she had such a negative reaction when the Faks tell her that she's Carmy's peace. I don't think she wants to spend her life being someone else's peace and deal with their unpredictability, as she had to do when she was a kid.] I never saw Marcus as a real contender for Syd, because it was so clear she only thought of him as a friend or a little brother. Someone she could mentor a little bit. It makes sense that he developed a crush on her, but I don't see her returning those feelings. He's just a nice guy. Carmy is the one who challenges her, impresses her, pushes her to be better, pisses her off. He's the whole reason she came to work there in the first place. That's where the sauce is. BUT--I do see her dating Luca for a while first. Those two had some flirty chemistry. And I think both Marcus and Carmy will be a little bit bothered by it because they both have feelings for her too.
Cole is criticized by others for what Alex excells in. This makes him jealous of Alex and excercise his strenghts over Alex. I love this in fact is Alex Cole finally fully admits how he feels, how depressed he is and what a low self-esteem he really has. That is what makes Cole's arch even more interesting and humbling deeper.
Love your explanation and insight. Think you're very right pointing out perceiving as Cole's super power. Both Alex and especially Jackie seem so different from Cole in this aspect. Even Grace comments to Jackie that for such a smart person she can be so stupid. Kind of don't think Cole could have not chosen himself in the end. He was going through depression. He has already made a great effort to remove himself from between Jackie and Alex, but he very clearly sees that Jackie doesn't love Alex and is clearly into him. He really knows that. He asks her just that in car, just before the rain sceene. He is a very good looking guy, but without his social skills there would be no "Cole effect". If one pays attention to some conversations between Cole and his mum.. those are pure gold. I think he takes after her when it comes to intuition and also some of the naughty qualities too. She knows his good and bad. Cole kind of depend too much on people around him for providing the ways to feel good about himself. Too much for him own good. Perhaps this is also pne of the reasons he is into Jackie - she never fully satisfies him. Anyways I am so curious what happens in the next season.
Alex only cared for Jackie to rub it into and get back at Cole. They both had problems. Col knew he had problems but Alex only saw Col as his problem. Alex didn’t try to be better physically or personally. Alex was insecure.
Just because they're soulmates doesn't mean they need to have a romantic relationship. Syd & Carmy are not normal people, and their relationships aren't gonna be like normal relationships. They have a deep connection that neither of them is gonna have with a romantic partner. Their relationship is gonna have some features of a romance without doing the whole .... thing.

Carmy and Sydney are simply the superior couple. If theyre not gonna be together (which i think they should) then the pairing has to be with someone who makes sense.
In my opinion, I think that Lady Danbury is going to take Penelope under her wing and show her how to be a flower, not a wildflower, no more. (No hate.) In my opinion, Francesca is better than Eloise in every way, shape, and form. (No hate.) Is it just me thinking that the every last clip in the trailer is the end of the last episode of the last clips of s3 part one? 🤔 I think the picture with Lord Debling puts his hand on Penelope waste is because they see Colin puch someone. The last picture of Dubling with Penelope I think the reason why she turned her hand is to make sure everyone is watching special Colin.
In the preview, I love that "Lady Whistledown" states "diamonds aren't the only gems that sparkle", which shows she understands that, even if she's different and wouldn't ever be considered a "diamond of the season", she has her own value, beauty, and uniqueness. She begins to wear "jewel" tones, which is a powerful message (and also reflects Bridgerton colors, I've read in another reply). She also states that she (the author) is "moving with the changing tide", which means she's ready to be swept away to a different place, and is ready and willing to be moved away from where she's been placed on the shore, away from the flow of society and affection. I'm so ready to see the new season, and *so* ready for a real suitor for Pen, especially after reading what he's like; his personality and interests seem to parallel Pen's, so Colin will have to sweat it out for sure! lol Absolutely ready for Pen's card to be full to brimming after other men realize she *must* be special to receive the attention of the new man on the scene.
Greens and blue are definetly symbolic of a new genesis or life, but it’s also a key social suggestion because blues and cool tones are Bridgerton traditional colours. Featherington colours are usually pink and yellow. Like in that one scene where she dressed herself for the first time without her Mother’s say and she chose a dress with a mixed pattern of blue and pink, suggesting she wanted her family to join Colins’. It’s a subtle pass. The colours only mingling, but not fully mixed. Similar to those passes women did by doing certain fan movements to communicate to suitors. Now that she’s wearing pure emeralds and greens it’s a big statement.🔵+🟡=🟢 But in that point in the plot Colin has fallen off the pedestal in pen’s eyes. She’s fully accepted that they aren’t going to be matched and is finding another suitor. Emerald is a jewel that shines similarly to a diamond and that statement dress she’s wearing still shows she loves Colin, but he’s in the dog house and she wants him to notice she’s not that cowardly yellow wallflower he’s helping as a favour. She’s a proper contender of the marriage mart.
Cole literally got better with Jackie’s presence..and Jackie tried to live a little and not take life so serious. They both were compatible/more ready to know each other from beginning. Alex took it upon him to get in the middle so he can beat Cole.
My issue with Claire is it seemed like she wanted to be his best friend so bqd like she just understood him and really she dont! Really Sydney is the one that umderstands him the most. She understands the pressure he is under as well as his love for the kitchen and everytime he looks at her its like he is seeing the light!
I’m so excited for season 2. My favourite Character is Alex because Alex is so kindhearted smart and funny and cute. I have to admit the Alex effect exists to me I have a crush on Alex he has a legit baby face and is a very kindhearted person and smart ❤ I prefer team Alex though still

My favourite character is Alex Walter in the show I have a crush on Alex. The Alex effect is real. Season two is coming late 2024 or early 2025. Alex deserves someone so much better than Jackie. Jackie doesn’t even like Alex well as a friend not a boyfriend maybe I don’t know. I don’t believe you really. I feel like he might be a little clingy at times but that’s it. I am still team Alex forever

Sydney doesn’t need the problem of a relationship with Carmy. Carmy is damaged goods, and has similar toxic traits as his bipolar mother. In the finale there were two dishes on the pass getting cold. Carmy started screaming at Sydney, and totally lost his mind. Sydney tried to calm Carmy down, and Carmy eventually caught himself and did their signature apology. It is at that point that I realized that Carmy isn’t ready for a serious relationship with anyone. He is emotionally damaged from growing up with an unstable abusive (possibly bipolar) mother and the ptsd of the recent suicide of his brother. Carmy’s rant about him not deserving anything good while locked in the freezer is similar to his mother’s self flagellation on the Fishes episode and her decision not to enter the restaurant. Claire overhearing Carmy state that she is inconsequential is just like his mother’s tendency to lash out at anyone in her vicinity when she is having a tantrum. It is no surprise that Richie called Carmy Donna. Carmy begins to spew the most hateful things to Ritchie while Ritchie keeps saying “I love you.” In this finale we see Ritchie’s growth and how far Carmy has to go. Carmy isn’t ready for a relationship with anyone. He needs therapy and to work out his trauma. Most of all he needs to grow up. Sydney doesn’t need that kind of toxicity in her life. 🙂
