I think there is an interesting interpretation in this scene: Is the Great Plan actually the ineffable plan? Beelzebub and Gabriel both answer yes, but they somewhat realise that it might not be. In all logic, the Great Plan responds to the wish for men and angels to feel close to God, which means that men and angels can understand what God wants. But they are now confronted with a contradiction: God being ineffable, so is His plan. So is the Great Plan the ineffable plan, or is it some sort of fraud merely to comfort men and angels? What I can't help but think throughout the series is that God, as in the one Aziraphale follows, never sanctioned in any way, even subtly, Crowley and Aziraphale. Only Angels and Demons attempt to do so, and they seem to act on their own. To me, this highlights that if God exists, He is actually not the simplistic ideas that religions follow, and Crowley and Aziraphale have understood it.
I was told today that providing life-saving medical care was tantamount to not giving God and his plans a chance. Asked if the doctors providing that medical care might not in fact be part of God's plan all along. Was told that God could save anybody he wanted to and we should let him decide. Then I went and rage watched this scene until I felt better.
I don't agree that she picked the coven over Louis. Claudia wanted to be apart of a commnity in addition to having Louis in her life, but Louis often abandoned her in some capacity over and over again.
This was my least favorite moment for Louis. Like that was really scraping the bottom of the barrel just to try to find something to pin on her and get the last word. He went from "I'm happy that you've finally found a place that makes you happy" to trying to guilt her about it just because she pointed out that his new beau might not be as perfect as he imagined. Claudia is Louis' most important relationship and it sucks that he always ends up sabotaging it at the worst times.
@@GamblerFallacy I completely agree. I think the coven also served as a lifeline for Claudia. I think she always suspected that Louis would abandon her in some way, which is part of the reason why she wanted to be apart of the vampire community and for Madeleine to be made into a vampire. That was a smart move for Claudia. Louis even adds insult injury by saying, "Think of what life would like without the burden of her," knowing she would hear him say it. I know Claudia is meant to die, if we're to stay true to the original novel, but I wish she'd had a chance at a real life away from Louis.
@SaturnPhase Yes, something for Claudia to belong with like Madeleine or the Coven was essential for their relationship, as they both wanted each other to be happy, but there was a necessity that the happiness of either wasn't dependent on, nor came at the cost of, the other's happiness. The issue with the Coven was that Louis and Claudia's happiness were still intertwined with each other due to Armand being connected to both Louis and the Coven, and so their personal happiness still interfered with each other. Madeleine was the perfect solution, being disconnected from the rest of Louis' life and providing Claudia with the type of connection that she was never able to have. I'm also heartbroken that Louis and Claudia didn't get to have one last moment to fully make peace with each other.
Poor Claudia 😭 Her life as a human was terrible enough, then she gets turned into a vampire, only to be perceived as a threat by the possessive and toxic men in Louis’ life. Like sis is just existing and trying to find meaning in her own life, since she’ll never be seen as an adult woman. But all these grown men are throwing tantrums cause Louis is hot and they want to own him and him alone 🤦🏾♀️
Because Louis is Helen of Troy. He is Melina, Hyacinthus, Lady of the Lake, Ishtar, Psyche, etc. Honestly I wanna kiss and cuddle him too… but not in a possessive way. He’s so 🥺😵💫😍
*deep sigh* Claudia is supposed to be a beautiful little doll, his daughter, this just felt like he got in a argument with a grown adult in a dress, nothing paternal or nothing She's even a bit big boned 😢😢😢 nothing * built like a bird* as Lestat said . She's like a big boned adult nothing like Claudia
I love that Aziraphale stands up to Gabriel and Beezlebub here, and that Crowley joins him. Can't wait to see how powerful they'll be together in Season 3!
