Hey can you do another video on this topic I’m trying to learn aswell and I would highly appreciate it cause I have a sea boy and I bf it for a while and it’s staring to green a lil so I wanna know what’s the best way
I live in Alvin just down the road right next to a church I go fishing everyday there, there is a gar in there DONT know what to use to catch it but I’ve caught my pb catfish and caught some bass in it
A brass wire brush is all you need to do that i just done an overhead came up almost like new but i did a full teardown and cleaned everything bearings and all other parts in engine degreaser then re grease with new grease and oil , its the only true way to clean out your overhead reels or spinning reels cheers hope this helps everyone out 👍🍻 P.S i bought the lever drag overhead reel at a pawn shop for $ 59.00 glad i did now .
Use aluminum foil with Warm water n soap to clean n bring back the shine to t Chrome finish on reel .just fold t foil several times dip n rub t Crome , rise n dry
Should have broken down the reel first. Leave bearings out of solution especially with baking soda I would have left baking soda out my self. White viniger ok. Rinse off after few hours. Rinse off with water dry parts well. Never use scotch brite on reel parts instead use 4/0 steel wool and if needed some chrome polish on the chrome. Less chance of scuffing the parts. Relube and check your drags when installing parts. That's how you do it dude.
I used blue sharks weightless and caught a bass think about it what bass can pass up a blue and white shad is close to silver and blue and think about Mann’s jelly worm put grape jelly scent in his worms and jelly worms have good scent good taste and even bass can’t pass up candy l use licorice liquor and sea salt to scent my worms but if jelly worms work why not jelly candy and explore gummy worm fishing on RU-vid a lot of people catch fish on jelly worms l saw a fisherman catching steelhead on gummy bears now ask yourself this does a gummy bear look like a salmon egg yes and they color salmon eggs orange and red they work
For licorice use aniset liquor for coffee use kahula liquor and for cherry and blue raspberry use snow cone flavor and l saw maple bacon flavor at jewel baking section bacon works because of sugar salt and maple and you can actually use strip of white bacon fat on the back of inline spinner it is really good
I just did my Penn 160. I used vinegar and toilet bowl cleaner for the acid content. I took mine apart first then let it sit for 24 hrs. It cleaned everything including the greased parts so you must grease the inside again when done. You might wan't to check out a channel i found "2nd chance tackle" This man is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to Penn reels I'm pretty sure he worked for Penn for years. Anyway..."Grease that reel" bud. Fish on !
Rookie but at least your are trying. Vinegar and baking soda reaction is for "maybe" three minutes. You can eat the baking soda and vinegar, you don't need gloves.Dont use brillo! Use 0000 steel wool (I use stainless steel. Use fiberglass boat polish 1800. Use flitz and a drill attachment to polish it all up. You could grind out small pits with boat polish if you had that kind of time! Nice reel bro.
Thanks haha, I'm an adult know and well aware of my mistakes in not only this video, but a few others from my childhood. To the others, please stop commenting hate because I am nowhere near big enough of a youtuber to come out and apologize / fix my mistakes from previous videos because like me, nobody cares. However, it is very amusing to see so many people butt hurt about the small stuff 🤣 RELAX its all gonna be okay! #TightLines 🐟
