I dont consider this the "best" as that would be using a actually manifold pipe with union connectors making maintenance easier and takes less time to assemble.
Union connections have always leaked for me. This is what’s worked best for me. I’m in an unusual climate. There’s TONS of ways to build a manifold. I do like having the option to remove things easily with union connections, but I chose to go this route. Thank you for your comment, I see your point as well being honest!
Using a 4 way on the 2nd or third valve assembly would give you more space for the 5th valve in there. Not sure why there would be a problem doing that as opposed to setting the box up on blocks.
the last guy used an elbow on the end made life harder. you did the same thing. could have atleast made the last joint longer so it could be cut of and re glued
Absolutely right, I did the same thing with an en elbow. This project is for a small courtyard so there will not be another need for an additional valve. Normally I always add a T at the end. Thanks for noticing, this comment will help others realize a T should have been added or a longer cut.
@@garymcdonald7777 this is a different pricing system compared to doing maintenance work. The video states that. Price high to try and get only clients who can pay higher rates. find an hourly rate that is your bare minimum you are willing to accept that is a quite higher rate. Factor this together with anticipated maintenance cost, fixed, monthly cost, gas, etc..
So I run a 2 Man on occasion a 3 Man operation. You say 50% should cover Labor, Materials and Expenses and 50% should be profit. Question, Does my pay come out of Profit or from the 50% reserved for Labor?
@@Letsjustbehonesttoday if times are tough and you need the work then your labor would come out of your 50% profit. If you have a pretty booked schedule, you should factor in your time at a rate that is at least double your highest employee.
Great video, I really appreciated everything about it and how you broke down the numbers. I wish you all the success a business can receive. Thank you for all you do.

Amazing video man, thank you for taking the time to give us all this information! Quick question, which software programs do you use to create drawings and the 3d models?
Glad the video helped! I have tried nearly all of them and now use real time. Landscape architect 2023. Many videos on my channel teach this program and I have a course on how to sell designs to help people further. Thank you so much for watching!
I didn't really have anyone to share the video with so I shared it with everyone just to help boost you to the top so hopefully other people looking for the same information don't have to waste as much time I did watching other videos before finding yours. Pin this one to the top RU-vid!
Thank you so much for the compliment of this video! That was my goal, no fluff just all value to help other landscapers! Thanks for watching and feel free to let me know if there’s any specific videos you would like me to create to help further
First good video I've seen on this. Thank you! I wish I could have just found this video first. When you said you can break even on the couch or spending time with your kids, that truly resonated with my soul! Took me a lot of wasted days and strenuous labor needlessly wasted to figure that out, but nevertheless that is true and you nailed it. Thanks for breaking it all down and being so factual and thorough. I hope they move your video to the top where it should be!
Not sure what happened, but I tried to purchase your 14-Day course, entered all the required contact info and card info, declined the extras, and it appears that nothing happened. No email confirmation or anything. I'm afraid to do this again, because I do not want to be charged twice. Any suggestions? Thanks.
An easier way to do those initial measurements is to switch to plan view. Start a line hit enter and type the distance and hit enter. Then if you need to, you can throw a quick dimension on line.
Also, if you’ve ever had the ‘joy’ of trying to rotate say a rectangle to another shape the raw rotate tool does not have fine enough control. BUT if you hit enter…you can enter the smallest degree to rotate into perfect position.
Now this is a good question. Sales taxes come after this on top of the final amount and income taxes get taken out of the earnings these number get you. You can figure in income taxes into the price to profit even more but then prices may start to be too high (example: a $100 job of $50 in profit and $50 in costs, turns into a $125 job if you factor in income taxes) (that’s significantly more).
So would factoring in income tax basically make us break even since we won’t have to pay out of our profits? And It’s just risky since it can up the price?
Most of the time income tax is not factored into pricing because there’s many many variables that affect the rate and amount at which you are taxed. I always recommend to find a great accountant to help
That’s great! I understand professional profits. 50 percent. Is doable, but in today’s economy your lucky to hit one or two. Maybe all day long in a very rich high income area. But it all depends on your location and how you sell it in today’s market economy. Especially now with so many unlicensed people who will do the same thing on pennies on the dollar. Homeowners don’t care now unless they think they are getting a good deal. People don’t understand how much everything cost! Now that all materials have gone up the roof.
I agree! Keep in mind that I am in the 2nd poorest state in America. I think population of the city you operate in can make a large impact at times. The trick is learning systems on how to find the clients who can pay your services.. that’s the one thing I really enjoy showing people how to do because it makes a massive impact
this really helped me a lot thanks, now i really have an idea of how to play with my margins as am still new in the industry. I would like to hear from you how you do ur marketing
@@LandscapersAcademy it’s really hard here n there with a great professional client we have but it’s hard with every client. Some clients we have to settle for 20-30%
how doing my friend ? How can i do irrgation desig on one page , pictures view on another page and design onother page, similar to build design pages is it possible with this one or do i have to do a sepeate design .
Hi there! The way that I know how to do this is by creating or design and saving it as the Landscaping plan, also save it as your preferred image likely JPEG, PDF, or PNG. Then delete everything landscape related and overlay and irrigation plan on the existing plan of what’s left and export that as an irrigation plan, keep doing this until you have an arrangement of images for each plan. you can also do this with layers and make certain layers have plants, certain layers have irrigation, etc. Then you can choose to cancel the view of each layer, when exporting or viewing
So on the design you presented here you can change it into a 2D design almost like a transparent look as would look on say a blueprint . ? If that makes sense . I’m new to this and would like to present this type of software to the company owner and I know he likes the CAD look .
Yes, you can quickly convert everything into a black-and-white cad style appearance. If you want to email me or send me a message on Instagram I can send over an example of what a typical plan looks like from my business. It’s not exactly cad style, but it tends to make more sense for clients and for the people installing it than CAD does.
Thank you so much! This program creates a CAD style drawing in 2-D as you design, but it does not create an actual cad drawing that would work in CAD software, if that makes sense? (More so a pdf or jpeg 2D drawing that looks cad style)
The roof gutters at the end of the tile roof are added by clicking on the house and scrolling down on the right hand side. Under the roof setting, there’s a button to checkbox “add gutters”.
just curious who this video is for? Is it for people like me that hire people to know how to do this stuff because it's their job? Or is it for people who are hired to do this type of stuff but for some reason don't know the rules of how to do concrete? All of this seems like the stuff that they would tell you when you're learning how to do this job professionally… Or, conversely, like something that someone who has no idea how to pour concrete, would never be able to utilize in the first place.
Agreed, it’s pretty common sense/elementary stuff but you’d be surprised how many times I see people make Concrete with terrible curves and concrete with no real strategy in the control joints
