I was really intrigued by Hound Dog's review, so I was searching for more people who have enjoyed this cigar. Great review! Just ordered a few singles to try, cause this sounds like a box-worthly cigar to me. Cheers :)
Love this flavor profile reminds me of le bijou , crux habano. Darker chocolate wood salt and pepper . Tobacco in blend is from 2016 crop . Wouldn’t normally pick up this cigar but was recommended and I was blown away but smooth complex flavors . The corona gorda San Diego is where it’s at for me
The flavor profile for me is on the dark earth, cacao, damp leather and black pepper side with last 2 on the retro. Further along raspberry. First few puffs were heavy black pepper on the retro. Overall, not a profile I favor. The 149 has a totally different flavor profile and one that I enjoyed more.
I agree with your review. I love their Corojo no 5 and their 20th aniversario was very good. I just think that El enemigo toro is hands down Gran Habano’s best cigar. I also got that sweet caramel, nutty, syrupy flavor and the bit of white pepper that you mentioned. I would have made this one their 20th aniversario cigar, but every one’s palate is different. I bought another 5 pack. Highly recommend it.
Crowned Heads anything has never done anything from me. EPC makes good stuff, not great stuff. Mild plus cigar enthusiast??? Sorry bro, that's not even possible
The humidor will jump up in humidity very quickly when you start to season it. Make sure that you pull out your humidification after it reaches five percentage points above where you want to maintain it at. It will come back down and normalize once you do that and put cigars in it to at least 60% capacity.
Went in on a box with my nephew. Had one a couple weeks ago. I felt it needed some more humi time. Smoking another now. It's much better. I definitely get a lot of the same flavor notes as you do. All in all, a great stick from Crowned Heads. I think this cigar wil continue to get better with time. Thanks for the informative review Tim. Keep em comin!!!
Great review, Tim. In your opinion would I be ok running an A3 on a 200sqft room with a mini split? I got the Jafanda JF999 which is supposed to run 4,500 sqft and I can barelt breath in there when I light up a cigar. It will clear the room in less than 5 min once the cigar is off, but I can't manage to have it filter the air and smoke fast enough to be in a closed room with a mini split and a cigar. Was thinking about 1) getting an A3 or running both the A3 & the Jafanda. Thanks again!
Yes, you should be fine doing that. That will actually be a good thing because you will have the air pressure pushing air into the room while you are having the Rabbit Air pulling the smoke out. It will help circulate to get the smoke out quicker.
I would use it as a dry box for the cigars I plan to smoke for the day. Because you aren't supposed to store your cigars standing up. It would look good on my desk.
I left mine plugged in so the temp and humidity adapt to each other. I always put a second and or third hygrometer in my humidor so I know where it’s really at.
What's good bro. Just got a 5 pack of robustos in from famous smoke for about $24 w/ reduced shipping. I'm just maybe getting to the first 1/3 and it's been pretty good so far. You're spot on as far as the burn, mine is very similar yours at this point.
It’s a cigar pick the used to be made and sold by @cigarprop. Visit cigarprop.com and see what he has on his site currently or go to trash panda cigars web site.
Heck yes, Tim!!! Glad you ended up really liking it, brother. From the construction to the flavor, it just checks every box. I have another one in mind for your next bomb that you may end up loving as well!! Lol
