Young bull runs over and says "Hey!! Lets run into that field and hump one of them cows!!" Old bull replies "No, son. Let's just mosey into that field and hump ALL them cows."
Grew up in central CA with quite a few dairy farms and a few of these guys were next door to where my horses were. Your bulls are gorgeous, obviously well cared for and treated with firmness but respect... But for those who never worked with livestock, these guys are not pets. They are huge unpredictable testosterone-fueled stink bombs, world class athletes with superhuman strength, agility and speed. They are capable of turning a car or ranger over or killing you without breaking stride, if they deem you a threat. They're also jockeying with each other for dominance and breeding rights. I'm so glad to see your handling methods don't include beating or using a prod on them. I think the best way is what you've shown us here - get to know them, learn to command them with your voice, learn how they think, treat them well, but realize their capabilities and limitations, and above all, never, ever, underestimate them. For further persuasion, doubt, look up the youtube footage where a rodeo bull, slightly smaller than these guys, does a complete vertical handstand on his front legs, rider onboard, while coming out of the chute. This rider concluded correctly that this day was not a good day to die, and bailed to the chute wall with some badly needed help from a fellow cowboy. Barely.
For the next few weeks I'm going to prepare a heifer for an Expo event. Halter breaking will also be a part of the training. Watching this video makes me feel a bit uneasy right now 😬 It's the first time I'm gonna do something like this 😅
I am from Fort Worth and knew guy who brought in bulls for pro rodeo riders. Your boy is big and beautiful. Be glad he did not choose to start spinning with you aboard. Yee haaa!! 🐄
Боря дал знать о себе что я приехал,хозяин дома , голоском потоньше помычал нежно ,дескать встречайте меня,мои коровушки с телятками,папа дома уже.❤😂❤😅❤
My maternal grand uncle was a rancher who raised cream faced Herefords in the Texas Panhandle. I used to to think bulls were hot tempered until I got close to one that was in a good mood to be petted. They share the same kind of moods and temperaments like most humans do. They're also very protective of the rest of the herd, cows and calves alike. You don't want to catch them on a bad day, though.
Did you hear the the Texas Aggie joke (both of my maternal grand uncles went to Texas A&M, btw) about the Aggies who were taking a course in animal husbandry and one of their projects was taking care of a bull that was servicing some of the local cows in the area. One day, while the students were out in the field, they didn't come back to class as scheduled. Two hours went by and none of them returned. Three hours turned to four and the worried professor found his students had their shirts and pants all torn up. They looked battered and bruised, but totally exhausted. Startled, the professor said, "What in the hell happened? Did the bull give you any trouble?" "Naw, Prof," said one of them. "No trouble at all. We had a tough go at laying the cows on their backs!"🤣 When is a miscarried cow like a cup of coffee? When she's de-calf-inated What do you call a cow or bull without legs? Ground beef How can you make a bull sweat? Give him a tight Jersey! What do you call a bull that masturbates? Beef Strokin' off Enjoy!
