Hi welcome to Nick's Toy Barn.. The home of my vintage and modern toy collection.. I’ve also been restoring vintage toys for many years and will occasionally upload videos on this subject.. another one of my hobbies is custom painting and modelling you can see some of my work on the channel.. I also have lots of videos of my model Railway.... ATB Nick.. 👍😎👍
I had the viper tank from cherilea, my mates had everything except the fire tender. The battles were epic 🤣🤣 Just one small correction the scorpion wasn't a tank. It was a tracked reconnaissance vehicle.( CVRT) . That said, great collection and memories 👍🏻
The Falcon is amazing, a great piece of kit, but I think the title of best general release should be shared with the AT-AT, both are top draw vehicles.
Thanks for watching and commenting.. Yes the AT-AT is awesome.. But this video is The best general release Falcon ever made.. The AT-AT is probably my favourite vehicle ever made.. 👍😎👍
Hey, Nick, as a former serving soldier, I was intrigued by your 4oth Anniversary collection; the RMP set highlights the Sterling submachine gun (L2A3), tho' it's magazine is inaccurate - it should be a banana clip, not perpendicular to (& opposite) the shell exhaust port; a Palitoy/Hasbro error ? Many, many years ago, a friend of mine had a WWII Japanese soldier action man iteration; as I understand it, that figure & uniform alone, are incredibly rare to obtain. Fun & interesting video !
It was probably cheaper to make like that.. Palitoy and Hasbro always liked to save money.. The Japanese Action man is one of the rarest to find and mega expensive.. 👍😎👍
Production costs do make sense - a shame tho' considering they have the L1A1 FN SLR so well detailed. I've only ever seen (that) one Japanese soldier; if he still owns it, I hope he has it well insured. In retrospect, it was the only Action Man that had archetypal almond shaped eyes & a sharper jawline than the Western physiognomy...you might even say, sublime. Take it easy, Nick.
Ahh, Britons GI Joe Version toy line. Last of the great dress-able toy lines. Many of the play sets where incredible considering the size of the figures
You can pick these ones up cheap if you’re not bothered about the box.. There’s a few people in the comments from the US that have found them very cheap.. Thanks for watching.. 👍😎👍
From my memory, I'm pretty sure that Action Man Eagle Eyes came out in 1977-78. Of the 75 models, even a talking one would have had fixed eyes. However, it's still a fantastic find.
They were brittle when they were made.. I’m sure they have got worse over the years.. I have heard stories that quite a few broke straight out of the box.. Thanks for watching and commenting it’s really appreciated.. 👍😎😎👍
Wish I still had my scorpion tank boat and cannon and my first action man. Kept them right up to early 2000s then gave them away. I so regret it now. I wanted an action man so in the early months of last year I bought the 82 talking commander with eagle eye. Since February this year I've been collecting and can't wait until next month see what else I can pick up
@@NICKSTOYBARN that's exactly what I have done even the action man field commander and radio box is the cabinet along with the radio and paperwork plus I keep my receipts in there. Only the figure is on display. I've not even taken the officer cadet out of its box the only thing I did soon as I bought it was to slip it out of the box to examine it but left the tie hooks in place
Like to get this though the windscreen looks something out of Lego. Pity they couldn't have built the land rover Jeep in this thick plastic instead of being brittle. They were toys built to last
Thanks for watching and commenting.. I know what you mean about the Land Rover.. I’ve just restored one.. and after all the hard work it looks great.. far superior to the Palitoy blowmolded jeep.. 👍😎👍
@@NICKSTOYBARN Do you think the land rover Jeep looks better? Even though it's brittle. Although mine is missing the wheel straps and the glass it was a toy I wanted as a child it still came with it's original paperwork and the scout car is missing the machine gun but really great value got both really cheap
@@davidneal9368 Definitely.. The Land Rover is way better and more desirable to collectors.. being brittle just makes it harder to find in good condition.. The plastic windscreen is an easy fix.. just cut a piece of perspex to size and drill the holes.. or you can buy a reproduction on eBay.. you could even make a new bonnet strap.. all the clips you need could be found on an old Red Devils front parachute which can be picked up cheap.. Restoration is part of the fun.. 👍😎👍
Love to get my hands on this duc. Been collecting since February of this year bought my first action man 1982 talking commander with eagle eye unboxed early months of last year then started seriously collecting in Feb.
@@NICKSTOYBARN I had great save when I picked up the 73 field commander and field radio came with box and even the paperwork and 2 action man catalogues reduced down in price also picked up the 92 G.I. duke unboxed and as saved money I got a spare uniform so if I come across an Action man or G. I without clothes I have something to put on him. Can't wait to go back in to town next month see what else I can find
Great find.. The landing gear can be quite expensive but you can get 3D printed ones at a fraction of the price of the originals.. The radar dish is probably more to scale than the original Kenner model.. not really sure to be honest.. good luck with finding the parts.. 👍😎👍
Not really sure that's a restoration...looks like a brand new custom product. Looks fab btw, great work. I remember the original personnel carrier and minesweeper from the late 60s - a poor reproduction compared to this.
That jeep looks better quality than the action man land rover Jeep. Love to get my hands on these vehicles. I had the scorpion tank as well as the boat and cannon. I still had them right up to the early 2000s and then gave them away along with my first action man. Now I regret it. Couple years ago I wanted an action man. So early months of last year I picked up a 1982 talking commander with eagle eye unboxed. Then February of this year I started collecting them. A 73 Field commander and field radio set boxed and a G. I Joe Duke soldier unboxed saved money so picked up a spare uniform. March another 73 action man pilot missing helmet and of course the land rover Jeep and scout car. April 2 90s action man figures and dinghy complete with motor board. Then last month an Action man Cadet Officer boxed made by art and science Hasbro really pleased with it. Then came across the Deep water salvage uniform still packaged and a small bag of weapons in silver. Not sure what uniform these accessories came with. Then a star wars force of destiny female figure unboxed. Next day I picked up the Storm Trooper and Finn I have found out no sooner you pick one up you want to get another one the next day. But no matter how many you collect you can't replace the action man you played with as a kid. Had him now he'd be in my cabinet
Thanks for watching and commenting.. it’s really appreciated.. I’ve just restored an Action Man Land Rover and added it to the collection.. it really is an awesome vehicle.. but it’s made of really brittle plastic.. I’ve got most of the stuff that I really wanted but I’m always on the lookout for new stuff.. I got in early on the 40th Anniversary when it was cheap.. The nice boxes look great with a vintage Action Man collection.. 👍😎👍
@@monkeysa43 I get most of my Action Man stuff from EBay.. its a challenge to find bargains but I’ve had quite a few over the years.. I’d like to go to a toy fair some day.. with Action Man it’s best to go for the job lots you normally get stuff cheaper then and you can sell what you don’t want.. get some of your money back.. 👍😎👍
I want this box soooo bad, I got both the figures in there separate boxes but I’d absolutely LOVE to have this box where there both together, do not let this go brother, this is one of the best if not the best box of the first mgs edition of action figures if you ask me Oh and it’s kind of hard to tell but is that there weapons behind them? And if yes then do they come with the same weapons as they come with in the separate boxes?
I’m subscribed aswell brother, and btw my snake figure comes with the famas, the socom, a suppressor I can put on and off the socom, the Nikita rocket launcher with rocket that it shoots, night vision goggles, gas mask, and c4 Meryl comes with a knife, a desert eagle, a famas, and what looks to be a grappling hook Does yours come with all of that? Also if it has more than that tell me aswell thank you
🤔Just a thought... Are the turrets on the Scorpion and Ironknight compatible?... I ask because you mentioned the scaling issue and the soldier figure fits the Scorpions...or is it the overall size that makes it a Micro tank😂... Do a fiddle(or even a violin 🎻') and let us know🤞🏽
Thanks for watching and commenting.. The Scorpion Turret is a lot bigger than the Iron Knight.. I honestly think the Iron Knight tank was designed for smaller figures.. three was a line of small soldiers around at the time.. 👍😎👍
@@NICKSTOYBARN yeah- Matchbox had some pirates with a working arm...activated by pressing their backs...EDIT- Having done a search...the pirates were part a Fighting Furies series and the activation of the swashbuckling was done by pressing on a button on the side of their ribcage☠
@@irvinelawrence2733 I think it was Big Jim by Mattel and maybe lion Rock by Palitoy.. not 100% but the Palitoy would match up with the Iron Knight Tank.. 👍😎👍
I had a i think 12 or more inch bobafett in the early 1980s ive never seen another before or since and i don't know whatever happened to it ? Thankyou for sharing 👍
