Greetings from Australia...nice vid and countryside of course but what I don't understand is why only one rifle amongst four blokes? This seems to be the case in so many scottish stalking vids...in Australia there's about as much chance of sharing another shooters rifle as sharing their wife / husband / girlfriend / boyfriend! It's just not done...
Hi there Australia😊 I’m actually not sure why it’s like that? But yes, the guy carrying the rifle, was our stalker. And when we came up to some animals, he handed it over to the guy who was gonna take the shot😊
It’s a .270 Winchester😊 I borrowed the rifle from our guide. It’s very difficult and time consuming to travel with your own rifle, in the United Kingdom😊
I wonder how did the gamekeeper select the stags to be shot? Deer managment is very important and venison is a sustainable source. This also provides a lot of work for people in the countryside in Scotland. Where i live in the Highlands, this is where i was born in Inverness. I have known three gamekeepers. The one who i knew the best was an Angus Cameron from Poolewe. I will not forget him. Even now i can hear that quite sincere voice. The salt of the earth.
Selection is done through age and or condition, occasionally an injured one will be shot if the experienced eye can see no recovery. I agree re Angus Cameron what a gent and the very epitome of professionalism
