Can, Can still going Can, someone better stop him otherwise he will run out of the stadium. Me and my mates growing up when we played around in the back yard, used to say this all the time when we scored a good try 😂
I have personally met Darren twice, he is a true gentleman, icon and ambassador for the sport, humble, giving and always willing to share. A true Broncos and Qld legend for all ages and all time - having known Wayne Bennett and been involved with his son Justin on a care basis I cannot praise Locky anymore than Wayne himself, I will never forget Wayne’s comments of “Locky being one of a kind, a true league mastermind and great person wrapped up in the one package” Darren is a true legend of league that will never be forgotten among very few immortals. I say this and rate him higher than my great distant relative “Graham (Changa) Langlands” - your one of a kind Locky
Up to THIS day, WA had been in a dreadful life-sapping drought, and in our minds, the Rabbitohs and Broncos brought us some of their rain. We took them into our hearts. They never complained openly and were terrific while they were here, showing some kiddies the first rain of their whole lives. Brilliant night.
He dominated the rugby league and achieved everything the game had to offer. A champion in two key positions fullback and fiveeight for Broncos, Maroons and Australia, no other player achieved in rugby league history. Lockyer will be the Greatest Of All Time and there will never be another like him. Thank you for the tribute.
Wow, I would never have thought an Adele song could match a Darren Lockyer highlights package. This gave me goosebumps, really makes you remember and appreciate how good Lockyer was. He was the best fullback in the world and he became the best 5/8th in the world, 2006 being his magic year. Loved it how in his younger days he could weave and run on 45 degree angles. Lockyer = Legend.
My list for the next inductees for NRL Immortals; 1. A.Langer, 2. D.Lockyer, 3. JT, 4. G. Inglis and 5. C. Smith. These players were the greatest the Rugby League World had seen and yet NRL had to drag its feet in inducting them. To the Queensland State and the world as a whole, these players are gods. There are none who can compare nor come any closer to their class.
