Looks great! Had to laugh when you said that making yeast bread takes too much time. This from the woman who spends untold hours decorating her Christmas tree (mostly the taking down part). The best part of yeast bread is that the yeast does most of the work. You don’t have to watch it rise (not much, anyway). Sent with love and laughter.
What a wonderful way to share something comforting and delicious. This past summer I bought carrots from the farmer's markets with the tops on and decided to try different ways of using the tops. I didn't saute them, but I did make a couple of things, salsas and chimichurris. Not my favorite--but I will certainly try this way of using them. And as far as I am concerned, you are a CHEF! Let us know how the carrots turn out.
My daughter danced with Bella for many years! My brother, who was a champion dancer, was a beloved friend of Bella’s and is mourning her loss. Cheers to Bella and the joy of Irish dance!

you're so well organized -- I'm just taking down our Hanukkah decorations, putting away our collection of menorahs, dreidels, etc. And the holiday ended two weeks ago! Your displays are so beautiful and elaborate -- plus your tree is magnificent!

I used to make St Lucia Christmas bread, with much the same recipe, years ago. A friend taught me to shape the dough into a Christmas tree-shape, with a braided trunk. Then, the branches were dotted with glacéd red and green cherry halves. Very festive and delicious. Your video has inspired me to try this again. Yours look lovely. (My daughter once played St. Lucia in her grammar school Christmas play!). Merry Christmas, Jill.

I remember going with my mother and sister to Gladding McBean in Glendale (San Fernando Road?) near Griffith Park for china. How lovely that the holly design on the plates is repeated in the napkins. What a gorgeous table!

Jill, if ever there was a time to do something that brings joy to your life: this is it. Thank you for sharing your memories and stories as you share your tree and its ornaments. Although I don't celebrate Christmas--and have never had the pleasure of my own tree--I remember with wonderful fondness, my memories of decorating the tree for one of my dear friends. It was a blast. Of course, that is when tinsel was thrown all over. Enjoy this holiday season and know that your joy in infectious.
