The hunt is real! I spend hours and hours each week, combing through thrift stores, estate sales, auctions & flea markets ... to bring home the goods and prepare them for selling in my Ebay store, and on Facebook Marketplace, which fully supports me. Come along!
It's almost impossible to make a profit with the higher prices at Goodwill for me. I found a fabulous estate sale where I picked up designer handbags for $5 to $10. People are cheap in my area and I'm getting discouraged.
Roger seems to be more comfortable being on camera, great! cool haul. Would love to have a large flea market near to me like that,. The closest big one is 45 minutes away
I know people personally who have so much genuine luxury brands yet they live in their mama house. I own my own home, drive a lexus and i do buy real mid luxury bags but anything over $1000 im getting a H Q D U P S replica and keeping money in my pocket.
The I have been told that you can no longer ‘catch’ abalone so abalone jewelry is more valuable now. Not sure if that is true but those abalone rings were very nice🥰
Thank you Karen for your amazing knowledge. Always enjoy watching your videos. I'm new to reselling and it helps tremendously. I was wondering if you had a video on packaging items for shipping? Recently I had a teapot break and I thought I packaged it well, apparently not! So disappointing when something breaks during shipping.
I don't think I'd do a cart either but I wouldn't mind a wagon, maybe? I think they may be a little easier to manage. Plus carts or wagons will be bumpy on gravel walks and that's no good for fragile items.
23:33 Your looking at the sweet little bird art...with plastic frames, reminds me of two pieces of art my mom bought me for my bedroom when I was a little girl in the mid 60s. They were cheap 5x7 prints from 2 famous 18th century paintings of a boy holding a dog and a girl holding a cat. Mine were framed in blond wood-look plastic. On the back of both are the Woolworth price stickers of 10 cents. They have virtually no monetary value now, but they're priceless to me. I have them displayed in my keepsake cabinet and looking at them warms my heart. I don't have any children, but I'm so glad I held on to them. I'll always keep them with me and someone can throw them away if they want when I'm gone. 🩷
My daughter and I saw you and Roger in Shillington today, but since you were working, we didn’t disturb you. Seeing you was like seeing a celebrity to me!
" I am always afraid to say anything these days ".... TRUTH . people need to stop being so sensitive .. We are who we are . As my mom would says " sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me "...
hints on jewelry ... if the back is all textured it is junk . a brooch with a pin that extends beyond the piece itself is vintage . Condition is everything so pieces that are tarnished or yellowing stones or dead stones will not be as valuale as a piece in perfect condition
also on jewelry checck to see how it is made ..like on back if you see grommets etc that is complicated to make you know it is high end they put all that work in because they knew they were going to get a lot for it ... Also weight if I feel a piece and it is light probably not a good piece if I pick up a piece and it is heavy I will look closer..also yea having brand names is much easier . Also any avom piece that is a collab with someone like elizabeth taylor definitely comp the item ..most avon not worth anything but thos e pieces that were a collab with someone famous yep comp them. In my area gw never sell donated jewelry all their jewelry goes to the gw online ... for me I love collecting jewelry so I rarley go into GW
So fun shopping with you! I saw a wood frame on top of the gold frame that you moved. It was right after plastic mini pictures. I just saw it in the video below at 18:15. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ja3vnFxUrsc.htmlsi=B8z5K-cILLKvq3yV
I wish resellers would show more of the reality of reselling as in show how Long things sit, complaints, what didn't sell. Everyone always shows their successes which is why people get discouraged and honestly are frustrated with youtube resellers because it is always displayed as if everything you buy is sold:)I love watching your channel and by no means am I bashing you or anyone, it's just an observation and i think if someone like yourself showed that it isn't as smooth as videos portray then i think it would help a lot of people:) 😊
Karen does mention time to time items that sit too long for her eBay acct; such as women’s jeans-which she is selling down. She is a long-tale seller so her turnover isn’t a blow out. She also will mention items that used to do great but then they got saturated on eBay so she stopped picking those items up.
I do think having a show and tell of DUDS would be rather interesting. When I watch her shopping I feel like almost everything is awesome. I would not be able to discern the good from the duds. I know resellers rely a lot on “solds” and “listed” on eBay. Also descriptions are key-using all the words.
@@CopingwithGrattitudealthough she does briefly talk about things that don't sell it isn't centered around that. Obviously it's her channel and she can run it how she wants but I think having that as a topic would really bring in another side to the reselling community:)
