It’s the original Celtic language of Britain and England before the Saxons invaded in 440 AD. It’s forebear is the language of the whole of Western Europe before the Romans conquer the celts.

I am New Zealand born. my beautiful grandfather and grandmother on my Mum's side were Welsh.They were from Anglesea in North Wales. I have always wanted to learn how to sing Land of my fathers in their memory. This reminds me such much of them both , as well as the welsh ballad ""Myfanwy"" , as that was my beautiful nana's name
I have never ever heard The Welsh National Anthem, sound sol beautiful as you #ElinTomos had sung it, in the authentic Welsh distinct Dialect, with that rrrrr rapid role of the 'r' s. And I hope we hear your voice again, do justice to the Welsh Anthem, in stages around the world. It sure beats English pronunciation of Welsh. As a first language Welsh speaker, she sings the anthem so horrible and can't pronounce the words properly. And it's Old Land of My Father's, not "Land Of My Father's"
I am a sturdy Springbok supporter. However, the singing of the Welsh anthem by this lady gives me goose bumps. What a lovely voice and sung with so much passion.
