I remember back in 2006 you released a Knightmare game and it was amazing. I cannot find it anywhere now. I would love to play it again sometime or any new ones you have made. Great memories.
Great composition Chris - we have just been very lucky to catch Maud on the River and capture some fantastic aerial shots - thank you for taking the time to make this short film!
Have a look at the old boots the chemist, my mum was a manager there for 25 years,, she’s been retired for 20 years, there is a tunnel that goes across the square to the church
I don't know the exact science but it had been attempted before by a local experienced ringer and apparently the physics of the hanging won't allow it to go all the way up. I just did as I was told- it's not worth damaging something if it goes wrong.
I did make an album of recordings like this during lockdown when everything was proper quiet! infrastructure-recordings.bandcamp.com/album/norfolk-soundwalks
Contrary to the image in this video, that section of road is single carriageway. FWIW, a Hockering bypass bypass has been given the green light, which will be a duelled section and run further South of Hockering, presumably lowering the road noise in the village.
Yeah, it's not "those" bells- that project has only just started officially fundraising, but maybe one day! I agree- I do perhaps need more rail content!
I like your channel. I have followed you from the start 👍🏽 I loved Norfolk Uncovered amazing series with your grandads' voice and knowledge complemented every episode. I always wondered why the series ended it would have been good to have had more episodes. I enjoyed the intro music. It was so good fitted the series well, sadly missed. Great, you are continuing this channel. Its interesting sounds are something different. It's a good update. Thanks for sharing 👍🏽
It was 2012 when I first enquired. First of all with the developers, then Centenary-Ashcroft, who then passed me onto the management of Anglia Square. We were VERY lucky to have arranged this then, but I doubt it would be as easy to arrange now, as I believe there has been further deterioration inside in the 12 years since! You can but try...
The pleasure is all mine... Your great-grandfather's legacy has clearly touched on the lives of so many people- here's to the next 75 years of making memories! 😁🐌
As always very educational to all budding recordists and ride enthusiasts alike. I find it hard to believe that there are recording problems you cannot deal with after taking this one on. Underwater?
I think you missed out a few other squadrons that were based there not least 171 with whom my father and his crew flew (Halifax 3) from September 1944 to May 1945 on electronic radar jamming and other special missions.
Really interesting video. Cromer tunnel is the last remaining standard gauge tunnel as there was a 200yd long one between Fakenham and Walsingham at Barsham this was opened out in 1912 but its lower walls remain to this day Cheers Russ
"Binaural" means it was recorded with in-ear microphones. (Bi = two. Aural = as heard by the human ear). It gives quite a rich and realistic stereo image when listening back through headphones. I made a video with more information about binaural recording here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ad-7ERkk03A.htmlsi=WF2zZvI5cs_v-kfa
Extremely interesting, Chris. Well done! You could easily be a presenter on television as you are a natural. The cinema just needs an organ and it will be perfect. I don't suppose there is any room for pipe chambers, but they could install a Hauptwerk system. :)
i have 4 carter minimites right now, all of them are the 12 volt variants. i wired one up to a ac 220v to dc 12v adaptator and it works flawlessly. now i need to get 3 more of the same adaptators so that i can run the others. tho i belive only 2 of the remaining ones will work since the last one has its rotor scraping the stator. ADDITIONAL INFO : the carter sirens i have are not the 24v variant running on 12v but are the REAL 12v minimites, so they sound exactly like they should.
Why is one rotor scraping? Is the housing plastic warped? I thought it was a pretty foolproof design. Yes, this one is a 240v one running off 12v (the transformer block looked ancient- I daren't put it through that). Hard to believe this was 12 years ago now- my small sirens are currently all chucked in a box in the shed from the last time I displayed them, but I won't part with them.
@@ChrisRichmond thanks for the info, tho i have no clue why the rotor is scraping, it looks exactly like the 4 other ones. maybe it fell a long time ago and that it slightly bent the plastic. i have no clue, but i manually spun all of them, and this one unlike all the other ones just does not wind down right, plus the rotor has a bunch of scratches, so yes it is scraping the rotor.
Hi Chris, your video exploring the old cinema at Fakenham and reflecting on its changes over the years was truly captivating! Your content is both nostalgic and insightful. Keep up the good work!
Good to see this. I was at the final screening when George and Betty Mays managed it, not owned it, in 1976. My parents were friendly with them. The projectionist was the local traffic warden. The cinema closed on a Saturday in 1976 I think and in the Sunday the protectors were removed.
